HATSAN SAD

Honestly. I don't think i ever got one i ether had to send back once or had to "fix it" out of the box in someway .. any brand . Thank goodness ive not gone silly and gone pcp ..lol . What a can o worms that mess is ..
I did once , but it was from Pyramid Air thank goodness. It was a .25 cal REFURBISHED Air Venturi bullpup.
The previous owner had broken the screw head of the adjustment reg by trying to adjust it without degassing first. The regulator did not work at all
Pyramid hooked me up ,and gave me back every penny. I since then learned not to buy a refurbished product , and later purchased a Zelos from them.

I realized when , and before I made this post this would happen you said " Seen this a 100 times over the years" , and done nothing. You said " so sit back , and watch" I said should we as a Nation turn our heads. It's the same ol story for some climb Mt Parnassus , or lay on the feather bed. It's easy real easy to so back , and watch it happen.
It's harder to do something about it which is obviously my choice here OV.
I get no enjoyment banging my head against the wall. And that’s what you’re doing in a lot of cases in this hobby. I’ll climb Mt Parnassus if it’s possible. I sit back and watch what’s impossible. The good news is the information is out there about products. We can’t make people smart enough to make the right decision with that information. We help them fix it, encourage them send it back if they’re not mechanically savvy, and tell them to quit watching videos about airguns on YouTube.

Yeah you're right the guy did send it back 4 months ago. They simply kept it , and never replaced it. They admitted it was a faulty product , and done nothing about it . Now just for me to learn from you what other cases in this Hobby did I bang my head against the wall. Just point it out. I can take it.
Edit : I did admit I was just venting , but maybe , just maybe someone can learn from this post NOT TO BUY HATSAN.
And that will serve me well for banging my head to help someone.

I was just at Midway USA , and read a review on the Hatsan Factor Sniper Long. The guy bought one , and had to return it to Hatsan as it was factory defective. Not long ago when I first joined here I read about the bad Hatsan customer service. I therefore never purchased a Hatsan because of that . I feel for this guy at Midway USA he returns his rifle after dishing out over a grand 4 months ago , and nothing. He is only one to review there.
People that don't belong to this Airgun Nation forum are getting bad business with Hatsan. Should we as a Nation turn our heads , and look the other way ? HATSAN has a bad reputation for the worst Customer service in the world.
Yes the world not just customers in U.S.A. but everywhere they sell. Some people here say I got a good one because I had to return it to Pyramid Air 3 times untill I did. That guy did not know to buy from Pyramid. Why do our sponsors sell stuff from a place that has has such a bad reputation.? So many times I heard the same story Hatsan won't answer the phone , or return my e mail. I want to stand up for anyone in the world having been hurt dealing with this company.
I think we as a Nation , and our sponsors should inteven, and boycott them untill they improve there products, customer relations , EDIT QUALITY CONTROL , and stop the hurt on the little guy. IMHO it's nothing more than a slap in the face to see Hatsan products anywhere. OV.
And I have had just fine Service from Hatsan. Email, phone call didn't matter. Specifically Kadden was without question knowledgeable and helpful.

I lost a small spring, 3 days later I had a new one. Got a little aggressive and broke a gun, didn't have the part in stock, took it off a gun for free. Needed breech oring, 5 in the mail. Had a loose barrel bushing in my Barrage that bent the connecting rod (long after Warranty) new connecting rod.

You are very lucky. I had to file a BBB complaint as after 30 days of no contact and not answering emails or their phones. Then they took another several weeks after that. I vowed to never support that company again.

Wow. That's great I'm glad to hear that
I gave your reply a like as you know I have a lot of respect for you. I'm really glad to hear a positive thing about Hatsan. If you get a chance go to Midway USA and read the review ( The only one) under Hatsan Sniper Factor Long. It's why I put this post up I've heard , so many complain about the bad customer service of them not to mention the lack of quality control , and bad products.

Do you know this guy personally? Do you know the whole story? It’s very tricky to take sides on the internet. People generally only tell or show you part of the story. Ratzy has them on speed dial and Hatsan is outperforming FX-USA when that warehouse was running. So?

And two of my Hatsan semiauto rifles both work with moderators attached. Of course I fine tuned the hammer spring, return spring and regulator pressure to get there. I rarely get a failure to index the next round.

My Invader I broke.
My Sortie Tact does not work with a moderator but otherwise is perfectly reliable.

They are heavy (and I made them heavier) and their triggers are abysmal. I dont shoot them much, too many new baubles to grab my attention. But I learned how PCP work because they are imperfect.

Sounds like you like Hatsan a lot do you know them personally.? Do you work for them. Did you read Bramezy's reply. I'm trying to help people learn here. That's fine if you don't like that.
Leave me alone ok I'm tired of you defending Hatsan , and you banging head against me .

What he is trying to say is each person has differing responses to the same problem. I'm the type that only contacts helplines/service after I have completely exhausted my resources. Others will be on the phone in a heartbeat. So what I see as a challenge to be beaten into submission others see as the most horrible product to ever grace the planet.

Or as the great SharonB on USENET would say "Welcome to the Internet, wear a cup"

Consumers are very tolerant of bad product and bad service. We are solely the ones to blame as why should companies push themselves to be better when people will buy anyway. Never ceases to amaze me the number of times I’ve read a rant/post about bad product or service and they almost always say “company will remain nameless “. The other response I can just fix it so the bad flys under the radar. Give the OP credit for being specific. 👍👍

Every brand has different ways of handling customer issues (or not handling them) and that experience will vary by country in many cases. From my previous experience working on the sales side of this industry, most of the budget brands have issues with this in the US. In Canada, they dump most of the responsibility on our few dealers/ distributors and conveniently ignore the problem.

Most of the customers that I spoke to had negative experiences with Hatsan's customer support (or lack thereof). There was also a reluctance amongst some people to trust Hatsan from the stories they've read on the forums regarding customer service. So, there is value in sharing your experiences.

Some of these companies have very specific and awkward contact protocols and not following them exactly may result in your questions going unanswered. Generally, any inquires outside the US will get ignored completely.

I understand I knew when I posted this I would receive different responses

Hatsan complaints are the proverbial dead horse.

I actually knew going in that Hatsan were suspect but I figured I would be able to fix them and in the process learn about PCP. I'm still buying cheap and/or used because tearing down a PCP isn't a problem for me. Puzzling through where the leak is located on my latest reclamation project gives me something to do at 2am...

This is how most of us learned. I knew I was buying unfinished furniture going in. So I expected problems. What gets me fired up as an OldVet is when a guy either saves or demolishes his credit card for a hype gun and has problems. But like I said earlier, on the internet we don’t know how many problems are self induced.

The guy bought a black gun from Midway. I’ll take an educated guess he’s a firearm guy. Probably a Lego AR15 guy. Lord knows what he did to it. But I still won’t buy or recommend a Hatsan.

Better rifles for the same or less money are numerous. Not so 5-6 years ago. So yeah, Hatsan is not to be recommended.

Reximex Throne 2 and Meta Premium
Snowpeak M60b and Max 1
Umarex Zelos, Notos, Gauntlet
Niksan Ozark and Elf
Kuzey k600 and k900
Barra 250z
AEA Challenger 2
And plenty of others.

And the used market, thanks to incremental upgrades every 6-12 months, is booming. Love those people that absolutely must have the latest and greatest.
