Government officials planning to waste taxpayers money again.

I guess politics and stuff is OK for certain leaning views
I think alot of members are on a certain side more than the other and some are more vocal about it. Gun people tend to be on that certain side. Most likely the mods as well.

It's also late night Sunday so they're probably busy watching their real life kids vs monitoring all of us grown children!

The town of Belvedere in California is having problems with coyotes and is considering hiring snipers from the federal government to eliminate all of them. I'm sure there are many volunteers on this forum they will do it for free. Why pay when you can get it done for free? Because that's what the government always does!

I am volunteer !

I just need them to give me some time to be ready ...... Ten minutes would be enough!

If they really want to save the planet from their made up Global Warming, I mean Climate Change because global warming didn't work out then they should ban forest fires and volcanoes.
The climate is always changing. Otherwise we'd either be living in a steaming hot jungle or a snow ball. Both conditions existed in the past. The Sun doesn't have a thermostat.

You sure about the Sun not having a Thermostat? I think Sun natural thermal reaction is really stable. :) Between the solar flares and sun spots it could be using those to maintain it's temperature, of course, I haven't dipped a thermometer to verify it.

Well to be fair, ir sounds like they made the right decision. The Feds have a long, and storied tradition of shooting dogs. They'll probably contract the job out to the Alphabet org, or Alphabet org...

It’s easier to blame the Feds if something goes awry and the Feds have deeper pockets (and immunity) too.
In finger-pointing avoidance prone California they wouldn’t have state sanctioned or wildlife officers do the job.

As a sidebar.
Rocky Mtn National Park advertised for volunteer hunters to cull the resident elk herd last year.
Volunteers have to use specific caliber weapons and ammo and be able shoot 3 rounds into the target at a specific range within a specific time frame.
(I can’t recall the details but they were well beyond "normal" hunting parameters generally encountered at least in my 40 years of elk hunting experience.)
I considered applying because it would be good practice and nice to be outside but the overall feeling was more like work not like volunteerism.
And you have to attend training pay for all ammo, gas and any food or lodging.
Also can‘t keep any harvested animals because they’re "taken out of season" according to the Dept of Wildlife and that would be "illegal."
Working with the Feds but controlled by the State.
Nope!

I bet they have no problem donating that meat to their families though. Rules for thee...

Municipalities hire the Federal animal people for good reason. Liability is the biggest.
The other is that they need the job done thoroughly and quickly.
At the ranch we manage we have beaver issues and every couple years I have to call the federal animal control guy out. He will kill more beaver in 3 days than the private trappers did in a season.
When we get over run with coyotes I call them again. Have tried yote hunters with solid reputations for high kill numbers and the Federal hunter will double sometimes triple their results in 1/2 the time.
There is no comparison between a professional killer of pests and recreational hunters when it comes to success.

Here in South Carolina, the Wild life Dept. has been tagging and releasing 4 coyotes in 8 districts for the past 6 years. They announced yesterday. If you shoot a tagged one, they will give you or who ever you designate a free hunting license for life. Nice Christmas present for a grand child. Here, on private land you can shoot those bastards all year long no limits. Now that's what I call a progressive state .

I don't live in that 'certain" part of the country ;) but I am aware that no matter where we go it is "our money" that the Government uses, don't get me wrong some of it is needed and some of it is just what I would consider wasteful spending💰
