Tuning FX Impact M3 First Regulator Gauge Problems

Hey guys, thanks for taking a look and maybe you guys can offer some solutions/advice.

My first reg gauge keeps reading totally different values. I set the reg gauge to 180/185 bar, and rear reg to 150.

Sometimes it reads 150 bar, 200+ bar, and sometimes goes right back to the original value of 170. Is the gauge faulty or something worse? Gun shoots fine and I haven't noticed any performance issue.

Any advice?

As much as I hate to say this, welcome to one of the more frustrating parts of owning an M3.

Could be the front reg itself (it's not a very stable reg and it does creep a ton). You can't swap the regs around either.

The gauge could be too tight, degas and hand tighten. Or it could also be bad.

Take off your bottle and make sure the reg screw is tight against the slotted stopper screw.

Or be like me and turn your M3 into a glorified MK2 and turn that reg screw out as far as you can, taking it out of play. 😁

My M3 has the same problem.

I contacted FX USA and they said culprit is the o-ring on the reg part #19731.

I just received them but have not changed it yet.

I hope this fixes the problem!

Here is a schematic and part number. Please double check as Impact701 indicates a slightly different part number, although it may be a typo since the numbers are similar. The ones I have are very small. If your in a bind, LMK and I will throw a few in the mail for you.

Good luck!

Sorry, but D94 is not 1st regulator o-ring. D95 is a plug screw next to the bottle connector.

I'm curious about this. I set the first regulator at 150 psi and the plenum at 110. The first regulator seems to go to 130 psi but then creeps back to 150. Reading the posts above, I am not sure if this is normal or not. And what's the advantage of having it set to 170? Doesn't that mean that you can't let the pressure in the tank go below 170? And wouldn't that limit the number of rounds per fill?

If anyone is in a pinch and needs D96 or D94 o-rings for first regulator -- let me know. I ordered some, minimum quantity was 50pcs.

I’ll need one set I’m planning on rebuilding it and change the stack or the washer , already got the 24mm deep socket. Does it will void the warranty?

I'm not sure about the warranty, I wouldn't imagine it would void the warranty but I'm not sure. Just PM me when you need the o-rings, just cover shipping and I'll get a few of each to you.

changing the stack of the first regulator to look like this: ( ( ) ) ( ( ) ) ( ( ) )

Basically 3 sets of 4 washers. This should solve the issue.

This fixed my m3 .357. first reg is 195 and second is 165, but i changed the second one to a huma, its worth the money

This appears to have fixed my issue as well! Changing the washer stack to that configuration.. O-rings were all good never damaged after inspection. Which I originally thought was the problem..

The M3 1st regulator piston is the same one as M3 2nd regulator or MKII regulator, the o-ring size is 4*1.5 NBR70(part #19109). Replace it If you have leak from the small hole on bottle connector.

The M3 1st regulator adjust screw o-ring is 2*1.5 NBR90(part #19731). Replace it if overnight you 1st reg pressure increase/creep to almost same as bottle.

M3 1st regulator factory set up can't do any precise control. Overnight increase 15+ bar is normal. No matter how to polish piston/adjust screw, it will creep 10+ bar overnight.

Tank pressure can below 1st reg, but just avoid lower than the 2nd reg.
