American Air Arms Evol having cardiac arrest

I hear you. But AGT probably at least responded to you. I’m surprised that they didn’t sell you a reg though?! I thought they’ll ship almost anything that isn’t a barrel if you reach out to them with a part #…
Guns with a reg in bypass can still shoot pretty good. But a gun with a bad barrel won’t shoot even with a great reg. At least you were able to get a barrel. But ironically can’t get a reg. Crazy.

Luckily for you Huma makes regs for the evol.

Btw my buddy had those same "rings" in his barrel liner, and it happened because of cleaning his barrel with a metal rod trying to pound pellets out of the barrel that a customer packed into it in the middle of a hunt.

Happy to hear it's working out now though!

Have you tried reaching out to derrick wall for a barrel? Or maybe TJ can make you one?
Yeah pellets/slugs jammed in the barrel and shot into each other and/or pounded with a rod was one of my theories as well… but then, it’s a TJ ChroMoly barrel, a lead projectile shouldn’t leave such deep indentations in that, or should it?! Ah well, who knows… As for the reg, yeah thought about putting a huma in… Still would have been nice to hear anything from AAA one way or another ;)

True that!! I guess I got lucky with the submoa becoming available, otherwise yeah… paperweight…

True for both!

With all of this discussion regarding lack of support for the AAA EVOL guns, one has to wonder whether all resources will be directed toward the new barrel business? When you think about the headaches of running an airgun manufacturing business. And compare that to the 'relative' simplicity of running a custom barrel business. And then look at what airgun accessories/upgrades cost as a percentage of a gun's overall cost.

Maybe custom barrels is just simpler overall and has a better margin? And maybe that business is going to be the only one running in the end...?

I would say not.
Tom love producing these guns I think the bigest issue as I see it any way is her needs so help around the place and probably isnt just yet large enough and I dont think he want to be any larger.
running what is basically a one man shop means he is doing it all ( I think think I recall him saying he had one employee )
so imagine he is running the shop fielding calls a nd emails trying to get to shows and events I dont see iy being possible?
not being able to offer the best of service is not good for anyone including AAA
I am hoping for the best
I do think AAA is going no ware but I also like so many others I see the issue

Wouldn’t be the first business that grows too fast for its own good. I have a client that x12’d its sold units in 7 years. They’re manufacturing, so not services, and their production lines take a year or two to be ready to go after green light so all resources went into churning out product. The brand almost exploded cause they couldn’t provide any service for the stuff they sold, their infrastructure wasn’t ready for such volume and all the admin/finance stuff was ignored, so they almost blew loans, were behind on tax filings and many other issues. Sometimes it’s better to pace yourself and grow in a controlled manner…

I don’t think that’s the issue at all but him growing too fast. Considering I waited six years for a Slayer 452 and the one I owned was always broken (what time on the phone he even chuckled saying that I have the most expensive Slayer with all the repairs he thought it was funny. I didn’t )and when I would send it back and take a year to get it back that’s complete laziness. I also purchased a email 30 count from his personal rifle. I guess he needed money for Christmas. He actually called a friend of mine first my friend was interested and I went and purchased it as I received the rifle. It was leaking away from the scratch a crack in the air tank set it back. I got it back within a couple months. It never shot properly. I didn’t even waste my time with him anymore and send it to Allen zasany who made the gun right. I am glad I sold it, but I made sure it was working properly when I saw that particular rifle. The owner wanted it sent back to Tom to do something to it. I don’t recall what it was when I spoke to Tom to send it back. He actually said I didn’t realize you were going sell it. I would’ve bought it it back from you even though I still owe you a 452I finally received the last payment of the 457 that I purchased from him six years ago so after six years and lies after lie saying I was getting the gun in a few months, I am schedule a pit hunt in the south to bring that rifle and he told me go ahead. I’ll have it ready for you. That was three years into the process. I’m not the only one I’m glad I never have to deal with him again or have any of his products. The sad part was I knew he was lying to me, but I just kept it going on the bright side. He received the $2800 loan interest free for six years. I still can’t for the life of me understand why AOA lets him work for them, considering everything he touches into poop.
