Benjamin Marauder Gen 3 !?

Anyone heard about this?

In the market for a MROD and they say it'll be here April 20th.

They are calling it the Benjamin Marauder Field and Target (only in .177 and.22)

Something about being regulated with a new barrel (rumor has it that its from "GM")

Tell us your thoughts.

Crosman can't make a Gen 3 Marauder because they can't even make a Gen 2 Fortitude.

Crosman is shackled to making "stuff" for the Big Box Stores because the investment required to make a Gen 3 Marauder is too prohibitive.

Production Machinery is old, outdated and so is their inventory and billing system.

That's not to say the Marauder did not have it's day in the Limelight because when it did hit the market it sent Shock Waves in the PCP market that are still being felt today.

Manufactures/Competitors still use it as a bench mark particularly in the noise reduction arena.

OK this is a two year old thread. Since the original post in 2017, Crosman did come out with the Field and Target model here:https://www.crosman.com/marauder-field-and-target-22

Haven't seen much out if it, but the regulated Maraauder does exist, and I believe it comes default with the Crosman Barrel, unless you want a custom build. Shooter 1721 did a review on YouTube, and it shot well. Be aware as a field and target gun, it's regulated to the lower end so anyone power hungry should look elsewhere. Overall it gets good marks.

A Gen 3 IMHO would have been side lever cocking, titanium or aluminum air tube, user tune-able regulator(equivalent to Huma Regs) to compliment the hammer spring & valve adjustments.Crosman barrels are now on par with GM barrels. It's all there Crosman......JUST DO IT and I'LL TAKE IT OUTSIDE.

All Crosman has to do is use the .35 Bulldog platform.

They'd first have to de-uglify it. Just getting rid of all the cheesy aluminum barrel shroud that makes it look like a Buck Rogers space ray gun would do the trick.

It's side cocking already. Just downsize the barrel and some other parts.

Easy-peazy.

Bulldog platform........yea it's a start instead of having to reinvent the wheel.

I completely forgot about the Bulldog platform. Must be that sour taste that came to me when I first saw it.

Crosman is still making it so I guess there is a still a market for it.

Can you imagine a semi-bullpup .25 with a normal wood stock? Oh my gosh!
