Anyone who does active shooting with a DNT TNC225R or TNC335R?

I've been watching a lot of reviews on the DNT TNC225R and the 335R that I plan to buy.

Every single shot involves some sort of stand. The shooter takes 3-5 seconds to LRF range and adjust focus before a shot.
The birds I hunt do not spend that much time sitting still :)

Is it possible to have this type of scope for fast bird hunting as well?
Have it adjusted and ranged for a shot at 40m during the day. I walk around and have a few seconds to take the shot without adjusting the scope in any way.
Is the focus terrible when the focus is adjusted to 40m, and I need to make a quick shot at 25m, or 50m without any adjustment?

I already have a standard 4-9x scope on my PCP gun, but I would want to use the thermal at night and have everything in the same unit.

Found one example, but it's kind of difficult to understand how it looks in real life.
Anyone that shoots without a stand of any sort and does focus adjustment when holding the gun at the same time?

I have the tnc225r and love it. It sits in my office window. When i chesk for critters day or night i use the thermal i can sweep my whole sight area in about 10 seconds. The thermal picks up everything. If i see a hot spot i switch to ir or day identify and shoot if i want. The only downside in my opinion is the picture quality is not as good as traditional glass but i knew that going in. I keep the dnt on my vulcan 3hp .30. I have other traditionl scope but prefer the dnt the night time viewing is well worth the difference in optical clarity from glass. As far as focus its not much different from glass scopes yes if you want as clear as possible ypu have to focus it. Thermal ive found is pretty good it will read heat from 10ft to half mile without messing with focus its just not super clear. But even focused the thermal isnt very clear anyway. Overall i would get it I havenot been dissapointed with mine if you want more info or questions message me im not sponsered just a shooter with honest opinions

Thanks. I appreciate it. Seems like DNT has gone crazy in sponsoring YouTubers to do reviews, so I am not sure what to believe :)

Have you done any freehand shooting with it? Is it even possible to do it with a scope like this? Changing focus and so on.

Yes i have although most my shooting is off table the focus lever is fairly easy to find as are the controls it just takes a bit of time to learn. I would say the focus is comparable to other scopes i have to get optimum claritry you will always have to focus with glass or didgital scopes. I have noticed the daytime mode makes targets hard to see really clear. Something about the way the lense picks up color. The other consideration is being depentant on batteries. You just cant grab and shoot there is a powerup time aprox 15 to 20 seconds. Battery life in cold or running pip with ir and thermal gobbles batteries like crazy. But once agian the thermal and night vision make up for the daytime and battery shortcommings. Im sure the next 2 upgrade versions are better but i dont know as i dont have. The focus adjustment on the throw lever is small meaning little movement big change over maybe 5 to 10 degree gets you from 10 yards to 60. I have not had a problem with the focus i find it manageable

Great feedback. Are you using a quick mount to move it between guns? I plan to use it on a 22LR from time to time.
No mine is on my vulcan 3hp and i do not have plans to move it. Another couplw bonuses are the balistic app and holdover options it makes it alot easier for distance changes. And the auto record fearure is nice. Lets you see every shot without having to hit record

You can choose a holdover type of reticle through the reticle menu. So you'll find it similar to you're conventional scope, but with a convenient range finder built in. Spoil yourself and spend the extra money for the higher resolution TNC335R thermal, as it is well worth it. Get extra batteries and the charger unit for extended hunting and shooting sessions. You can also get extra rechargeable's on Amazon.

Would you mind timing that powerup time? 15-20 seconds is surprising.
