Anyone try out the AirMaks Krait X?

Huma reg won’t work. Just got an email from Marc yesterday. Here‘s a pic of the old block on the right, new block on the left. They made a small brass pin for their reg. They haven’t even seen a new block yet at Huma. The new block needs a bigger pin.
Vet - I am a bit confused. On both of these we are looking at the non-reg side. Can you post a pic of the drivers side of these blocks? I was more curious to see the hole where the reg goes. Maybe post them side to side in the same orientation rather than 69ing like you have them here - muh brain don't work so guud lookin' at it like that. :ROFLMAO:

I should have access to the old block so that may be ok. Here is that 35yard 8 shot group. I know it's got it, just need to get it to stay put.

Annnnnnnd now Daniel's gun is leaking out of the stupid outdated fill probe hole. Great. God, what an absolute piece of trash.
Any pointers before we tear into it would be greatly appreciated.
Might have to replace the o-ring for the fill port valve here.

Bleed the gun and remove the bottle to access the fill port valve.

Tonight my Krait just mysteriously lost 100fps. Turned the reg and HS up gradually over 15 additional bar to see if I could get it back but the gun just stayed lame. Put my old monoblock back on and was still dealing with a dead soldier. Sat there looking at it thinking what could it be. Changed the probe oring and when that didn’t help I came to the realization that I’m fed up with this thing. Finally had a tune that I could almost live with as I chased the descending reg pressure then the gun takes a dump. Calling UA in the morning and the thing is going back to them. They can deal with it because if it stays here, it’s going off the nearest bridge.

Got the gun stripped and boxed up last night. Gun had no air in it so this morning I figured I better not ship it that way so I took it out and aired it up. Don’t know why but something made me shoot it over the chronograph. Speed was back up. So I just sat it on the table until I get home. This gun is screwing with me.

If they are gonna let you return that gun I'd do it in a HEARTBEAT. Don't do this to yourself, man! Send the gun back, you masochist! :ROFLMAO:

You can get literally anything else in that price range and it will be way better. If you don't want another FX maybe see about messing around with an AGT. Or look into a Skout (call me if interested in a Skout..)

I am past the point of getting my money back. I would just be sending it back to see if they can resist throwing it across the shop.
Oh..... After thinking about it all night you'll get up in the morning and go right back at it. You seem to be the type not to take a whoopin on anything mechanical..

You have me pegged Jason. Came home from work and got right back on it. But I quickly got right back off it and placed a phone call. It’s now in a box/casket. If my sudden 100fps loss is something dumb, I’ll own it. I just can’t stand to work on the gun anymore. Leaving my 100fps loss out of the equation, who knows WTH is going on there, the fix for this gun is simple. Airmaks needs to abandon the whole adjustable up and down under pressures thing. Here’s why. Because this reg has a poppet style seat, that makes the sealing surface very big. Most other regs that function and recover proper have a tiny pointed pin that pushes into the seat. With all that surface area on the poppet style it just takes too long and as the tank pressure drops it just keeps getting worse. This new reg doesn’t creep past its set point. That they fixed. The problem is it can take an hour to get back to your set point if you leave the gun sit. It only gets worse with less pressure in your tank to act on the reg. Still waiting on shot strings from everyone’s good Krait.

This must be a high power thing, our one is spot on it is the MK3 reg but we have know creep issues at all it works a treat, we got the Krait as we had a katran and liked it, the Krait seems to be on a par with it.

We only shoot at sub 12 power so the reg is at about 75bar with a 775 fps .177 it's very consistent and accurate it's had about 6000 pellets through it now and we have tried different reg pressures and setups so it has been played with but we haven't modified anything yet.

All i can go by is my one in sub 12 but it's a great gun, i have know connection with Airmakes it's just interesting that the high power one seem to be having problems it's normally round the other way, we struggle to get pcp's to shoot well as the valving and plenum size amongst other things is wrong for sub 12 lbft

Here's a shot string from mine not really relevant to you as far as the low power but shows for our market they work well, it had been sitting for 3 days when i did this, shot from about 180bar down, only 70 shots but to do a full string is like 400 shots so it just gives an idea of what it's like.

Good luck with your gun and i hope it gets sorted, i payed £1450 for my one so i would be fed up if it didn't work properly and i would think they are a similar price in the US

That makes a lot of sense. With all the tuning I’ve done with the gun, I believe if I set it real slow the gun would be more cooperative. But with a 66cc plenum, I’m only asking for 44fpe. The porting on my .25 is massive so with plenty of plenum and more than adequate porting, the gun better produce normal power compared to all the other guns in its price range. Taipans, Crickets, Uragan, Vulcans and others have no problems producing normal pellet power with a .25. No excuse for the Krait not to do it.

Sadly I had my gun on point for several months when I was using two regs. My shot strings were flat as a pancake 890-900fps for a full fill to refill. When I changed over to the new block is when things went south. I planned to go back to my old setup which was two regs 170/135 but the mysterious loss of power won’t let that work now either. If UA can get the guns power back, I’m going back to what I’ve been using the last couple months.
