Texan .308: Breathing Easier, Hitting Harder Quick update on my current Texan .308 setup for anyone tracking long-range tweaks or just likes gear that works harder than the guy shooting it.
What I'm running: - External regulator
- Stock valve (until Trajectron shows up and changes my life)
- Stock hammer + Trajectron hammer spring
- Polished barrel
- 4500 psi CF tank
- DonnyFL Yokozuna (because my ears are unionized now) And help with accuracy
- Limbsaver Sharpshooter X Ring for barrel vibes— just harmonics
- Mad Dog stock (because stock comfort matters when you’re chasing sub-MOA at 300 yards)
Once the Trajectron valve arrives, I’ll be making a couple of key adjustments:
- Replacing the internal spring at the rear of the valve with the weaker factory one to help it breathe right around 3600 psi
Also did some sealing touch-ups:
- New O-ring behind the top hat, thinner than stock
- Thin O-ring opposite for a tighter handshake—she seals up better than my garage door in winter
Performance as it stands: - 150gr slugs at 1042 fps from 3500 psi
- Around 364 fpe
- But the barrel’s 1:14 twist says "slow down, cowboy"—most accurate at 950–990 fps
- Goal: sustain 990 fps at lower PSI (aiming for that sweet spot around 3200–3400 psi once the valve's in) 330ish fpe BARS 150gr semi fn- boat tail flat base and knurled.
