Other AirForce Texan Regulator

I like Trajectron parts..I like there valves for Airforce...I have there Airforce Condor valve at 3625 psi and it is a beast!!!For me no regulator on the bottle on any Airforce....The only reason for Airforce is power...The regulator on valve greatly limits power...I use a external regulator that i fill to 6000 psi or 5500 psi and regulate to any psi i want....

You can get the same power with a regulator with a plenum. The Trajectron or the Huben Power Cricket Max-ATH. I think the Trajectron has 150cc and the Huben 50cc.

You will have the same power with added consistency. Or you can lower the reg pressure and get a lot more shots per fill.

I agree with using an external regulator for max power on a non-regulated pcp. I have a .308 with Trajectron parts and it has hit (below) but I have since tuned it at 3400 psi. I have ordered a few more parts so I can maintain the same performance at a lower psi . (Looking for 3300 psi with 150gr at 990 fps). But for those who are looking for a regulated AirForce pcp, as you can prove. You can have power and have a regulated Airforce pcp.
Weight (grains) 150
Velocity (fps) 1042
Muzzle Energy = 361.73 foot-pounds

Impressive results with a regulator...Wow 1042fps is great in a .308... I may have to rethink things with fps like that.. Good work ..Thanks for the post

What is up with the orange marks on you power wheel?

How many of you would buy a regulator for your .250/.257/.308/.357/.457 Texan? What if I told you it's made by Trajectron and it's under $300.00 Trajectron https://trajectron.com/

I do run other parts from this company on my Texan .308, valve, hammer spring.
When those regulators came out there was a pretty confusing incident where a user lose sight for a little time filling his gun , meaning that he went out of the room. The regulator Exploded, and the youtuber that was making the promo Upnortairgunner , simply burn the product. But in his review of the reg it was doing awesome numbers and small spread .. after that nobody seems to dare to try to use them at least i never heard from them again it here . N since like for a $100+ more a external reg could be purchased i got 2 n didn't give a second thought to buy one of the Trajectron regs again.

Do you use a external regulator or the Trajectron reg .. also do you got that speed only by adding the Trajectron Valve, hammer and spring combination only + the higher fill pressure..? Thank you
Texan .308: Breathing Easier, Hitting Harder

Quick update on my current Texan .308 setup for anyone tracking long-range tweaks or just likes gear that works harder than the guy shooting it.

What I'm running:

  • External regulator
  • Stock valve (until Trajectron shows up and changes my life)
  • Stock hammer + Trajectron hammer spring
  • Polished barrel
  • 4500 psi CF tank
  • DonnyFL Yokozuna (because my ears are unionized now) And help with accuracy
  • Limbsaver Sharpshooter X Ring for barrel vibes— just harmonics
  • Mad Dog stock (because stock comfort matters when you’re chasing sub-MOA at 300 yards)
Once the Trajectron valve arrives, I’ll be making a couple of key adjustments:

  • Replacing the internal spring at the rear of the valve with the weaker factory one to help it breathe right around 3600 psi
Also did some sealing touch-ups:

  • New O-ring behind the top hat, thinner than stock
  • Thin O-ring opposite for a tighter handshake—she seals up better than my garage door in winter
Performance as it stands:

  • 150gr slugs at 1042 fps from 3500 psi
  • Around 364 fpe
  • But the barrel’s 1:14 twist says "slow down, cowboy"—most accurate at 950–990 fps
  • Goal: sustain 990 fps at lower PSI (aiming for that sweet spot around 3200–3400 psi once the valve's in) 330ish fpe BARS 150gr semi fn- boat tail flat base and knurled.

There was some buzz around a regulator explosion involving a Trajectron unit, and UpNorthAirgunner reportedly pulled back hard after initially praising its performance. The details are murky, but it seems the issue stemmed from a fill mishap—possibly leaving the gun unattended during a high-pressure fill, which is always risky regardless of brand2.

Here’s the thing: any regulator, especially one handling 300+ bar, demands respect. If tolerances are off, seals fail, or the user deviates from safe fill procedures, things can go sideways fast. That said, Trajectron still sells regulators and other gear, and some users report solid performance—especially with their dual-gauge setups and larger plenums I myself use an external regulator for many reasons listed.
Regulator & Gauge Setup – Built for Pressure, Tuned for Precision

Running the Bauer REG-0039 inline regulator—rated for up to 6000 PSI input and adjustable from 1000 to 6000 PSI output. It’s got:

  • ¼" NPT female inlet/outlet
  • Dual gauge ports (gauges not included)
  • Rugged construction, field-tested durability
  • Repair kit available (KIT-REG) for long-term serviceability
Paired with a liquid-filled stainless steel gauge, made in the USA, with:

  • ¼" NPT bottom stem inlet
  • Dual-scale readout: 0–7500 PSI / 0–510 BAR
  • Direct replacement for Bauer GAG-0070W
This setup’s been rock solid for my Texan .308 tuning sessions—no drama, no leaks, just clean pressure control and easy diagnostics. If your regulator sounds like it’s wheezing or your gauge is fogging up like a bathroom mirror, this combo might be the upgrade your bench deserves.

Thank you for the details..I had a 308 like 4 years ago.. but sold it, it didn't shoot heavy bullets at speed it was more for 120gr to 130 gr lost interest n sold it.. but after your post I saw the Trajectron 308 Valve package $150.. i have a friend assembling a texan 308 if he don't like it .. i buy it from him .
