.30 Panthera 145fpe 65 and 90 yards

Seems like it wants to max out at about 155 ft/lbs. My last increase of 5-10 bar didn’t add any speed, and I still have plenty of hammer left. Don’t think I will try and go any faster. Just about every group at with the 75 AVS running ant 965 are .25 inches at 42 yards. About the same with the 70 grain slugs at 985. Worsts group today out of 13 5 shot groups was .39 inches CTC.

My thoughts are if it doesn't go faster with more pressure then the valve simply isn't being forced open enough or the valve itself is limiting the gun. We know the valve is much bigger than my maverick so that can't be the issue. That leaves me looking at the hammer relationship. Perhaps even with more hammer spring the lighter hammer just won't deliver enough energy to give you more power. May require a heavier hammer... I myself use a 26 gram hammer along with a stronger hammer spring to open it up at 200+ bar. The only other thing I can think of is barrel length not being long enough to take advantage of the air being used but still it should keep increasing velocity no matter what the barrel length is given an increase in pressure.

I have the tungsten hammer but don’t know what it weighs. So what you are saying could be a factor. Got some 80 AVS in the mail today and will test them at 100 in the am along with the other weights. I did chrome a few at 950 this morning. So 160fpe, I’m pretty happy with that. That’s the biggest slug that will fit in the mag anyway.
