In my younger days,I always wanted a Crow Magnum or the Theoben Eliminator

Had a 20 cal Crow Magnum gas ram, not a very fun gun for plinking at a higher power level, nice looking though, novelty wore off, and that was a gun I didn't regret selling.
Mine was a very angry gun also. To cock and shoot. But some guys don’t have a problem with it. What’s interesting is I have no problem taking a beating behind a powder burner. But I’m a complete wimp when it comes to airguns. I think it’s because of the environment we exist in with airguns. Hell, half the guys on here are probably shooting from their window or deck in a bathrobe and slippers.

For the serious Crow mag/ Eli fanboy only

I hear you,It seems when I am shooting a PB rifle it is different, the range is much greater, most of the time I at a shooting range and not my backyard.
As far as the Theoben ,I will see and already know what has to be done do make it easier to shoot.....maybe it just my last hooah . What ever happens happens ,plus truth be told I got a great deal.....then again a great deal is only if it works out for me.....

Too be fair I never had a PB that was this hard to cock and I used my arms a lot because I was a house painter back then so was in great shape in that regard. At least the CM didn't have a springy sproing since it was a gas ram, more of a forward recoiling THUMP. It would do 1" at 30Y which wasn't horrible it's just that - pcp.

But same here for PB's except dangerous game guns/cartridges, and 12 gauge with HV slugs. A guy I know had a 416Rigby, I fired it once, lol. My go-to is a 6mmBR long range rifle so it's sweet to shoot.

You guys likely have seen my comments on springers before and they're not my thing anymore. I even sold my 300s in favor of a 601 which I've been happy about. I don't hate em though.

I also recently discovered my Western Mordax Venom is much more my thing than I imagined it would be. Now that's a fun gun for me which definitely HAS become a thing! I have to pry myself away from it.

I've had several Eliminator/CM rifles and never found them to be particularly hard to cock or shoot. They were all full power. I am now 69 years young and still enjoy my .22 Eliminator, .20 RX2, .22 Scirocco and .22 Crusader. Unfortunately, I am going to have to thin several of my airgun collection out sooner than later.
12 fpe doesn't count, jk.

It's not the first how ever many cocks when I began plinking, it's a prolonged session that was PITA.

Yeah if I had shot it every other day to condition my muscles then okay that's different.

Kinda like springtime coming around then riding my EMTB again after months sitting around. Once I get in shape again I can ride for hours with little consequence.

As a recent purchaser of a .20 Crow magnum I can share a bit from my limited experience.
They do have some problems that need to be checked before you even shoot the rifle.
1- make sure the piston crown/seal is good . If it turns out to be bad , you’ll have to source a replacement. Only thing I found d that was available to the general public . Aussie seals have them. It’s a parachute seal and will require some fitting.
2- check the cocking pin, if someone tried to cock the rifle while out of the stock it will break the pin. I couldn’t find d one and had to make one ( lucky to have a lathe).
3- check the function of the safety. The safety bars are somewhat soft and bend fairly easily. I took mine out , straightened it in a vice . Not to mention the triggers are not the best. Workable sure, better after a good polish on the contacts .

Power vs. Cocking effort. Mine was shooting slow for a magnum. Lucky to have the hose and adapter so I could adjust. Adapters are available online to fill from a PCP hand pump. Be real careful not to over pressurize . I out enough air in mine to get 13.73 JSB’s to just over 800fps. It’s definitely not like cocking an HW30 but it is manageable.

If I were in the US. I would have shipped it straight to David Slade and called it done.

I GOT IT!! Wow, it is perfect, like new, a collector must have had it; I'm not kidding, it is perfect, pictures will come at a later date. I checked it out,ok for about 3 minutes before I cocked it ,put a 21gr. pellet in it and shot it......It is big,not real hard to cock and it shoots pleasant enough..I am a happy guy.I do a better check later,I can tell it will need a new breach seal later on.I do not see how this rifle can be in such good conition unless it was never taken out of the box....
I worry a little bit about shipping, but it was packed the right way,the guys I got it from ship hundreds of rifles so they know what they are doing.....
So no mtter what I am happy and if it ever needs work I can ship it to the expert and still come out ahead..:giggle:

Thank you for the information. It is arriving today, and I will check it out and make sure it good to go,David Slade been in back of my mind since I "won" it.
BTW,like the bike in the background.
I love that bike too. Unfortunately a few weeks back I took a fairly bad spill. The bike was brand new , less than a tank of gas through it. Now it needs bars, plastics brush guards, clutch lever etc. I was very lucky not to seriously injure myself. God was watching out for me. Lesson learnt.

You’ll love that rifle once you get it shooting if it isn’t already.
