Speaking of Crowns... I swapped the 700mm barrel off of my .22 Crown and swapped the 500mm back on.
I had been shooting heavier pellets with the long 700mm barrel since last fall. The rifle shoots great with the 700mm, but it was always insanely accurate with the 500mm shooting 18.13g.
I was texting Greg and Tommy after I did the swap. Sighting it in with the 500mm, I shot 1 group at 40 yards - 5 shots measured .126" center to center - I texted it to Tommy and Greg and said it was now time for a card...
...Tommy texted back and said that I better shoot a 240, lol.
Well, first card with the .22 Crown at 500mm is a leaderboard submission for 40-Challenge (but not a 240):
197 11X
.22 Crown Mk 2 (500mm)
FX 18.13g at 900fps (FX Chrono)
Sightron SII 36X fixed power.
Here is a picture of the current state of my two Crowns. The blue one is using Greg's (NAProf) 380mm .177 barrel. The green one is the .22 500mm. I recently swapped the 480cc bottle on the green Crown to 580cc. Both Crowns bought off the AGN Classifieds. The blue one came with a synthetic stock but had the big 580cc bottle. I found the blue stock used on the AGN Classifieds. Both rifles are insanely accurate as per my leaderboard submissions. I've done some modest work on both rifles refining them (even improvements to the crummy FX triggers) - but if your looking to target shoot with pellets, its hard to beat a used Crown or Dreamline for the money.
