RAW moderator replacement?

when it comes to the raw a simple moderator quiets it down just fine, mine in 25 cal sounds like my mrod in volume now, just saying.....

The RAW platform wastes air when firing, due to repeated hammer bounce. That's why they are loud and have somewhat lower shot counts per fill.

After the hammer bounce has been arrested with a SSG, much quieter - 50% or more shots per fill. 

I just purchased an HM 1000x and it came with the big moderator (not offset). I want to remove it completely. I can get the end piece (actual sound dampener) and the tube off but I can remove the piece with the 2 set screws. Any suggestions? Bob

Remove set-screws ... if needed, heat the piece where it's contacting the barrel with propane torch - I didn't use MAP gas.

I was able to pound off with a wood stick and dead blow hammer. Heat softens the loctite used to secure.

Second thought not the best idea to go with an AZ version because its too damn quiet makes you think you dryfiring the gun with zero air in it making it extremely dangerous IMHO. Plus you always paranoid the gun broken all the time thinking its got no power due to lack of sound when shot.

Does az put a moderator on the end of it or just adds a fully shrouded Barrel with baffles?

Mine has a shrouded barrel. Well worth it.

AZ was doing shrouds before they were common on factory guns. His design and tuning expertise is beyond reproach. For the Rapid line he is the best!!

I agree with every point made here, wholeheartedly. Worth every penny and time it took for work to be completed.

AZ will do whatever is requested. If he believes it’s doable.
The shroud he does for raw gun is one piece alum. With integrated suppressor. “There is no seam or removable end cap at the muzzle”
As the raw doesn’t have a ton of clearance between the barrel and bottle, he does a cuttout for clearance around the bottle. Looks really clean.

he will want your gun in hand as he doesn’t just slap these on the barrel. They are properly aligned to the bore of the barrel.

I’ve played with quite a few options in terms of suppressors for the raw, the including Martins centered CF, the offset Cf and a Neil clague.

AZ has the best solution by quite a margin.
