N/A old man that is newby to air guns

Not loud at all. I’ve got about 3 different types of pellets and can’t tell you anything about them. Give me a few minutes. RickH

N/A old man that is newby to air guns

I have a Benjamin Trail in .22 that would work to 30-40 yards but I haven’t tried it past that. I forget what scope is on it now but budget $100 for it and shop around and you should be fine. Rick H.

AEA What factors can explain these results?

The 3/8 and 3/4 groups I don’t see a problem, a 1/8” difference is probably you. The 1 inch group even more so. Shoot three groups of five three times. Make sure wind isn’t blowing. Keep air pressure very close with each group. Same pellets for each. Don’t get in a rush. The problem will show...

    Need help with the ghost

Simplest answer for me is two sandbags. Shooting a powder burner on a bench it’s steady enough to work well at 1000 yards. Cheap too. Rick H.

    Taking the plunge into PCP

FWIW I have a Maximus with a red dot that can break an egg reliably at 30 yards shooting offhand. Simple, easy and it works. This one was about $40 at WalMart. Rick H

    N/A Cheapest option for groundhogs

If you want to stick to pcp then check the Gauntlet 2 in .25, mine would be very good for that. If you’re open to other possibilities I have a Benjamin Trail in .22 that would work out to around 30 yards but I haven’t shot it past that. It’s a break barrel but shoots well. Rick H.

What are the downsides of semi-auto?

My experience with semiauto air guns was a Crosman 500, co2 and bb’s, 15 rounds in a tube magazine. I loved it and learned a lot about shooting. I got it refurbished a few years ago and bought another from my gunsmith. They aren’t perfect but they are fun and that’s the point. Rick H.

KRAFORD & LYPT what’s happening with them

A common problem with small businesses like this is that they make excellent products and may very well take pride in and love what they do. Meanwhile they are poor business people. Everyone wants instant gratification but the best products take time and the customer should understand that. The...

What did you do airgun related today.

I organized my ammo storage and found a pistol I forgot I have. Rick H.

    A bad thing to do

Evening everyone. I just made a terrible mistake. Two of them actually. First I cranked up some old school music to volumes in excess of neighborhood standards. Then I organized the lower section of my gun case. I found four scope rings, a red dot sight and an air pistol I forgot I had. Four...

    Ranged pest control

Honestly at 175 it wouldn’t be an airgun at all. I know they are capable and at 100 or less my Gauntlet in 25 would be okay as long as I do my job but I would go for a .17hmr rimfire to be absolutely sure. BTDT in a similar situation. Rick H.

    2025 Goals for Airgunners

I’ve sworn not to do two things in 2015 and 2026: not buying any more RC airplanes before 2027, I have half a dozen to finish or restore already. And no more airguns this year, although I saw a few interesting rifles available at CMP last time I was there….I’m doomed. Rick H.

    Springer vs. PCP

I have both types and my first pcp was a Benjamin Maximus. Not fast or fancy but accurate, lightweight and I can pump up to full pressure easily with a hand pump. It lives in my truck most of the time. Rick H.

FX M4, impact problem at 100 yards

The suggestion about your scope being canted was something I didn’t think of but it makes sense. Rick H

    Crazy New Gun Justification

There’s no method to my madness. If I want to expand into a different caliber, type or style, I just do. Normally I have two of whatever. Rick H.
