    Daisy The old Daisy 25

My first one was a Daisy 101 and I found two of them last week as I was clearing out the living room for new flooring. I have no idea where they came from. Next was a Crosman semi auto CO2 rifle and I still have it. Got back into this a few years ago, 3 guesses what I look for at yard sales...

Gamo This gun just gets better .

It’s kind of funny in a matter of a few hours there’s a post on a Gamo gun saying never again, it’s junk and then one saying the complete opposite. I have never had one so I don’t know but could they really be all over the place in quality control? That’s something I have definitely seen with...

Do you have lasers or Flashlights on your PCP?

I don’t have any lasers or flashlights on any of my guns. I prefer a clean look and less weight. What really pushed me away from all that is an AR-15 I saw once that had way too much crap hanging on it. It was awful. Rick H.

HW 50 Accuracy improvement by accident

Beautiful rifle. I suspect it’s a harmonics problem, something could just be a little loose or slightly over torqued. Rick H.

Someone talk me out of this…

I have the solution. Go ahead and buy it. You know you want to. Take a look at it, admire it, shoot it, clean it up. In a week or so overwhelming guilt will consume your very existence. At that point ship it directly to me before you become a psychiatric patient from the guilt. I will lock it...

    Am I a sucker??

Based on nothing more than what you posted, no I wouldn’t. Showed up full of air? Some missing information. Could be completely on the level, seems to me most here are but I would have to give the gun a good inspection first. Rick H.

Hello from Maine - newbie question(s)

My first PCP was a Benjamin Maximus. It’s light, accuarate and easy to maintain and not expensive. I pump mine up with a hand pump and get about 25 shots per fill. I also have two Umarex Gauntlets in 25. They use the same handpump as the Benjamin but it’s a lot more work. A compressor for the...

Alabama and Georgia folks take a look at Talladega

I’ve said this before but it’s true. At the airgun matches I’ve participated in at CMP the majority of shooters are high school or younger. They have good family support, they work hard, they are safety conscious and very nice polite people. They often come long distances and are part of a...

Alabama and Georgia folks take a look at Talladega

Yeah it’s an impressive place. I plan to start shooting rimfire steel challenge there in May. I mean I built a rifle specifically for that two years ago and haven’t made it yet but it’s worth the trip. Rick H.

    Show me your first gun.

Mine was a large 60’s version of a Red Ryder. I must have shot thousands of bb’s through it. Then I got a Crosman 500 semi auto co2 gun. Took a lot of trips to the Western Auto to keep it powered and fed. That one has recently been refurbished. I stole my brothers 760 and had it refurbished too...

    70 Year old needs Help!

I can think of two good shooting effective rifles, the Benjamin Maximus and the Crosman 760. The Benjamin will need a hand pump since it’s a pcp but it is not hard work. I have a red dot on mine and it’s an effective gun. The 760….well those have been around forever and would be perfect. Both...

Wood stock V Laminate stock V Synthetic stock V Metal stock

I prefer a stock that makes a gun look like what I think a gun for that purpose is supposed to look like. Is that convoluted enough? I have two target rifles that are comp only guns, an Anschutz and a 2078A. The Anschutz is synthetic every thing. It looks like a comp gun and would suck for a...

    Why does it sit unused...

The CMP competition calendar ends in May and is done until fall So my comp rifles will be getting some down time. I’ll shoot the Maximus, the break barrels and pumpers this summer. Probably burn some powder too. Pistol practice and the rimfire steel challenge. I generally shoot what strikes my...

    Tuning De-Tuning my new Beeman AR2078B .177

I have a 2078A and get about 60 shots out of a pair of CO2 cartridges shooting 10 meter matches In .177. Your round count on a single CO2 sounds pretty good, I’d leave it alone. Rick H.
