    Thoughts on buying used?

Most of mine were bought used but a few came new. In all of that the only problems were a Gauntlet and a Gauntlet 2. The gauntlet had a few sloppy manufacturing issues that were easily fixed. The 2 looked like project started but not quite finished. Both are very good now and I continue to look...

Recs for someone to restore old Daisy 880 Ted Williams rifle?

I’ve been very pleased with Micheal’s Lock Stock and Barrel in Alabama. He’s about a 15 minute drive from me and does the job right. Rick H.

What did you do airgun related today.

After nearly a year I got out a break barrel rifle and pistol and my recently aquired Crosman 2240. Made some decent groups at 10 meters with all 3 and ended the useful life of several Gallon size water jugs.i really haven’t just shot for fun much this year and none this summer so it was fun to...

    Interesting challenge...

Is she willing to learn to shoot well? Is she willing to put some effort into maintenance and filling an air tank with a hand pump? I have a Maximus that is light weight and hand pumps easily and is goo for maybe 25-40 shots between fills. I have a 2078A that uses one or two 12mg co2 cartridges...

    If you started now?

I don’t think I would change a thing. Different guns for different reasons, not to be confused with different uses. A compressor is on the short list before my back goes on strike but the classics have been a real pleasure. Rick H.

    N/A PCP air pressure retention?

One of mine leaked down in a matter of hours, it was a problem as soon as I got it. Some poor metal work in manufacturing was the culprit and was damaging O rings. Got it fixed and it’s great, has held air for months. Rick H.

Say hello. What state or country are you from?

East central Alabama. We call it Gods country.

Huben PCP Progression - What was yours?

My first pcp was a Benjamin Maximus In .22 I think. Then I decided I wanted a .25 just because I didn’t have one so I got a Gauntlet 2 and since I want 2 of everything I got a Gauntlet. There’s an Anschutz target rifle. I don’t know if a co2 gun counts so I won’t mention those. I like all of...

Have you found that “ One Airgun”?

The good news that yes I have indeed found the ‘one’ airgun. The bad news is that I have found it 11 times. Rick H.

Looking to get into the hobby

Welcome to your nightmare. Before you do anything else hand all of your credit cards to a trusted family member who can’t be intimidated. If I understand correctly, you are on 30 acres so no neighbors close by. For smaller pests I would get a .22 or .25. I have a Gauntlet and Gauntlet 2 in .25...

    HATSAN SAD

If I spend $1000 on a new rifle I darn well expect it to function properly out of the box. If I spend $200 for a new one, same expectation. Since I found this place I’ve learned a tremendous amount of useful knowledge and have seen enough bad stories about Hatsan that I just don’t want one. Do...

Airgun Technologies I almost screwed up and sold this one…

That’s a beauty. In photography this problem is known as GAS aka gear acquisition syndrome. Unfortunately I am afflicted in both pursuits. Rick H.

    N/A Crosman 140,Fourth Variant?

Google Michael’s Lock Stock and Barrel. He rebuilt mine and did an excellent job. He’s in Alabama. Rick H.

    Shooting Airgun in residential neighbourhood

There are two questions here at least. Is it legal which is what you asked? What is legal here in Alabama or locally may well not be legal where are located. Second question; is it safe/smart. In my back yard, yes. Yours? Only you can decide that. Rick H.

Other Why so many .25 cal. for sale?

I have two Gauntlets in .25 and with a little work both are quite good. Yes they cost more to feed and without a compressor are a nightmare to pump up. They are bigger and heavier than many of my other rifles but very effective if I were to be hunting Coke cans in my yard. I think .25 is a very...

Other thoughts on "tactical" vs traditional rifle

I like both styles and have airguns and powder burners in both. I use them for different applications and have learned over the years what works best for me. As for the argument that tactical isn’t useful for hunting, well, yes it is. Just different. Rick H.

Could a regulator creep in the heat and stay at a higher pressure?

At 40and 50? I may not be saying what I’m thinking, wouldn’t be the first time. Before the gun gets hot shoot at 30. If ii is hitting the x ring, let it get hot and try 40 and 50.

Could a regulator creep in the heat and stay at a higher pressure?

No, leave it sighted in at 30 and when it gets hot, see where it hits at 40 and 50.

Other Beginner 10m Air Pistol Men

The Civilian Marksmanship Program in Anniston AL and at Camp Perry Ohio provide pistol matches and you are very likely to meet some Olympic level shooters. Aniston had Olympic team tryouts I think last year. Either location can provide contact information with willing participants and give you...
