    The Amazing China airguns.

I’ve said this before, the Chinese are quite capable of producing good quality products. Some days they simply don’t. I have a Gauntlet and a Gauntlet 2. The 2 has shot well as long as I’ve had it. The other one leaked air and it took another $100 to find some sharp metal edges that simply...

This upsets me because it is not helpful

I try and answer the question asked if I know something about it. Sometimes the answer is you can’t do what you want very well on $xxx budget. Other times there is a very good solution and I’ll say so. I may add that for another $100 you can do even better. Like most activities there’s a...

N/A Please, some guidance for very accurate/target air rifle + associated hardware. Finances are a concern.

It depends on your budget, planned use and how heavy a gun you can handle. I have an AR 2078A in .177 that shoots very well. It Uses two Co2 cartridges for about 60 rounds. A bit heavy but well made and versatile. You can buy a lot of Co2 for the cost of a compressor and it sounds like a hand...

    Break barrel safety

The first time tried a break barrel I recognized this concern and how badly you could get hurt. I tend to watch for things like that in anything I do. My fingers and toes and the rest of my body parts don’t work as well as they once did but I still have all of them. Rick H.

    blowback pistol slide lubing

I prefer lithium grease. Clean, effective and doesn’t drip all over the place. Works well on model railroad axles too. Rick H.

    Best airgun for coyotes? K1?

Honestly I wouldn’t use an airgun on a coyote except under dire circumstances. A powder burner would be much more effective especially at distances past 50 yards. Admittedly just my personal opinion but if in a place where I need to actually shoot one a 30/30 would be more effective. If I have...

What do you guys/gals think? ,your opinion wanted.

My suggestion is to have the work done for you. I have a local gunsmith who has done outstanding work for me more than once at very reasonable cost. I know how it can be with diy projects, had a few go bad myself. You may yet add another to your collection, I certainly have, but let someone else...

Sheridan Added another one, to the herd

Nice rifle. My Blue Streak is the only one I’ve seen available lately and I like it a lot. Keep plenty of pellets on hand, sometimes they can be a little hard to find. Rick H.

Am I feeding new pets ?

They are kits. There was a den of them in my parents yard for a while and I enjoyed watching them. They did no harm at all, didn’t leave a mess and later in the season the whole family moved on. Rick H

    Strictly off hand…

I have two I bought specifically for 10 meter competition, a 2078A and an Anschutz 2002. I started with the 2078A and did reasonably well but I learned very quickly that a jacket or suit, gloves and shoes are common among the more experienced shooters. So are dedicated competition guns. Most of...

    Crazy price of used guns

I’ve bought in the classifieds here and other places. Been good experiences nearly always. Buying new or used, an item is worth what you can get for it. Economy is up, it’s worth more. Economy is going downhill and that million dollar Shelby isn’t doing as well. If I want to sell something for a...

    Grouping on blank paper

You need to limit the variables. Use the black dot as your aim point. Set the gun up on a table and some kind of sandbag or other rest to eliminate your movement of the gun from shot to shot. For the first 10 rounds do NOT adjust the site. Simply see how the gun groups without any changes. Keep...

    What gun, what criteria?

I think most newcomers are like I was 4-5 years ago. I’d had airguns for years but while I was away from it, airguns grew tremendously with capabilities I never dreamed of in an airgun platform. I didn’t know what I didn’t know and had no idea what questions to ask. We need to work with new...

N/A Which of your airguns would you choose for a 60yd target for only one shot?

If I could only use an air gun mine would be a Gauntlet 2 in .25 but would prefer a powder gun. Rick H.

    Crosman 1968 Crosman 760 PowerMaster

You can get that 760 repaired and restored without a problem. I have 2 that have been done in the last 2-3 years. They shoot great, look great and it wasn’t expensive. Rick H.
