What springer did you shoot today?

Shot a couple hundred pellets through the peep sighted Hw30. Tearing up a vitamin bottle and spinners as the sun dropped. A nice calm Arkansas evening with the chickens and dogs.

Beeman New to me R8 is a keeper.

I recently worked with Tom at Vortek and created a kit for this R8. It's shooting nicely without twang between 8.5 and 9.5 fpe. It cocks a little harder than my Hw30s and considerably easier than my 50. Despite having the roughest cut leade I've seen and no choke this gun is crazy accurate...

HW/Weihrauch Who shoots 22 Weihrauchs at 50 yards or more?

Cool. Try hanging the hull on a string. It's fun watching it fly around when you do hit it. It's also great because it resets itself and saves alot of walking.

HW/Weihrauch Who shoots 22 Weihrauchs at 50 yards or more?

Paper removes the BS factors. I thought I was a real hero hitting shotgun hulls on the berm behind the 100 yard targets with a 22LR. At 100yds it was lucky to group 3". I wasn't hitting the hulls as much as was bouncing them around with the bullet's sand splash. It was lots of fun and made me...

    HW/Weihrauch Skirtless piston

Is that the normal hollow TX style seal on there?

    HW/Weihrauch Skirtless piston

Is the juice worth the squeeze? In my pastime in drag racing engines reducing rotating and reciprocal weight was a way to gain power and very important to some more than others. The largest weight reductions almost always came with tradeoffs that would have to be weighed by the racer. Aluminum...

Other Mil-Comm TW25B for spring piston lube?

Lots of good questions. Occasional use may help the moly. Moly is suspended in a petroleum based paste. The moly kinda stays but the paste thicken as it dries out. Exactly how long it takes I can't say. I guess it depends on how much was used and the environment around the gun. I really wouldn't...

Other Mil-Comm TW25B for spring piston lube?

Red n tacky is similar to almagard 3752. Which is what people say Tune in a tube is. I've used it along with the similar petroleum based greases that come in the Vortek kits.. I use the moly impregnated Vortek piston seals. A couple of my personal guns have tens of thousands of rounds through...

Other Mil-Comm TW25B for spring piston lube?

There's not alot of load on the cylinder walls. Lubrication type is not nearly as important as amount and how it's applied. I flip flop between traditional petroleum greases and krytox. Krytox will produce ~10 fps less than a perfect sealing petroleum lubed gun. Even if un detectable there's...

What springer did you shoot today?

Shot close to a couple hundred rounds through my freshly restocked Baby BB Gun (peep sighted Hw30). It was a hoot smacking a motrin bottle hung from a tree at 50 yards.

Diana Can HW30 main spring fit Diana 240 ?

Unless I missed it, the most important dimension is missing in the op. The outside or inside diameter. Either will work when the wire diameter is known. Length and coil count isn’t that important. Springs can be cut and reclosed. Length changes preload but doesn't necessarily indicate strength...

Beautiful on all accounts. I can't wait to see it finished. You're a truly talented craftsman.

    Beeman Talk about pellet fussy.

Thanks I've tried different scopes. The gun requires alot of right adjustment so I thought it might be too much adjustment to maintain zero. I tried a known good scope from my 97 and let it land 7" left of my POA. The groups didn't improve at all. Then I put the 77 scope on the 97 with all its...

    Beeman Talk about pellet fussy.

I have noticed a decline in accuracy on the JSB around the time they went to screw top tins. I try to buy the FX and AA rebrands as they seem to be more consistently sized. Contrary to popular belief it's not because AA or FX owns special dies. Its because they make the rebrands in big lots from...

    Beeman Talk about pellet fussy.

Thanks I'm not shooting rested. I don't have any luck shooting springers rested. I hold them. I lean my left wrist on the sandbaged ammo box in the photo. I tried six ways from Sunday holding this gun differently in the past and didn't do any better. Somedays its just me having a bad day. I...
