Tonight’s shot was much less clean than last night - tonight’s looked like a scene from a Tarantino movie. Same .177 Polymag, same HW110, much messier story. You’ve been warned… Chris

.177 Polymag at 925 to the ol’ thoughtbox did the trick. Shot another one last night that entered the shoulder, went through the body cavity, and exited the belly. Both equally dead. Seems to be good rat medicine if the vitals are hit…

Earlier this week I found that my HW110 had a velocity drop, so I tore it down, fixed it, and dialed it in with Polymags at ~925 fps. I’ve been itching to try the combo on rats, and tonight I got my chance. Hit this one in the head at 13 yards, and it it was pretty gnarly - lots of flopping...

This is mine set up as a carbine in .22. Stacks Hades in the same hole. Easy to adjust and tinker with, too.

Sounds to me like you need a PP700. Inexpensive, accurate, and capable of 12 ft/lbs. Not too long if you don’t have a moderator on it. Love mine.

Took an 18.1 JSB to the noggin from the PP700 carbine tonight. Landed on the pavers under the squirrel corn. Flip flop is a size 14 for reference.

Caught this one chewing on the squirrel corn tonight. Flip flop in picture is a size 14, to give you an idea of size. Shot with my PP700 carbine using an 18 grain JSB. Not sure how fast it was moving, but it went clean through the head!
