    Metal (pellet proof) Bird Feeder?

I had similar problems and went a different direction. Many stores are now carrying habanero bird seed, which squirrels will not eat. I guess birds can’t taste the pepper, but mammals can. I have lots of squirrels in my yard, and haven’t seen one in the feeders since I started using this feed. I...

Back from vacation, back at the rats

Got this one last night, right in the fusebox. Another messy one, as evidenced by the gray matter next to the body. The Polymags make quite the hole. But there’s never any doubt it was quick and painless, which is my ultimate goal, even for rats

Short range feeder defense (squizzers!) and the old man pulls-off the ACE!

The answer to squirrels without shooting them, (which is fine, especially if you’re looking for a more permanent solution,) is bird seed with chili powder or habanero mixed in. Birds eat it, squirrels and rats do not. I guess birds don’t taste it but mammals do. Regardless, it has worked for me...

    Messy shot rat…

Thanks! That’s how the previous night was - entry wound, no exit, very little blood. But when there’s an exit - yikes…

    Messy shot rat…

Tonight’s shot was much less clean than last night - tonight’s looked like a scene from a Tarantino movie. Same .177 Polymag, same HW110, much messier story. You’ve been warned… Chris

    Clean shot rat

.177 Polymag at 925 to the ol’ thoughtbox did the trick. Shot another one last night that entered the shoulder, went through the body cavity, and exited the belly. Both equally dead. Seems to be good rat medicine if the vitals are hit…

Rat and the Polymag that took it…

Earlier this week I found that my HW110 had a velocity drop, so I tore it down, fixed it, and dialed it in with Polymags at ~925 fps. I’ve been itching to try the combo on rats, and tonight I got my chance. Hit this one in the head at 13 yards, and it it was pretty gnarly - lots of flopping...

N/A I want a cheap, really precise pistol with enough power to do small game

This is mine set up as a carbine in .22. Stacks Hades in the same hole. Easy to adjust and tinker with, too.

N/A I want a cheap, really precise pistol with enough power to do small game

Sounds to me like you need a PP700. Inexpensive, accurate, and capable of 12 ft/lbs. Not too long if you don’t have a moderator on it. Love mine.

    Another fat rat…

Took an 18.1 JSB to the noggin from the PP700 carbine tonight. Landed on the pavers under the squirrel corn. Flip flop is a size 14 for reference.

    Fat rat

Caught this one chewing on the squirrel corn tonight. Flip flop in picture is a size 14, to give you an idea of size. Shot with my PP700 carbine using an 18 grain JSB. Not sure how fast it was moving, but it went clean through the head!

    Thank you!

    Snowpeak My PP700S-A carbine

Thank you! If I ever get a LOT of rats, I also have an HW110 that would do the job! This is more for portability.

    Snowpeak My PP700S-A carbine

Bought this off Cody a while back looking to make it into the Carbine seen here. Was looking to make something that would fit into a backpack, as well as something I could sneak out back to hit the occasional rat on the bird feeder. I originally had a 6.5 inch Rocker1 moderator on it, but that...

    Snowpeak PP700 transfer port

Thank you. That’s kind of what I thought. Looks like it needs to be drilled out to 3/16ths, based on my research. Chris

    Snowpeak PP700 transfer port

I recently bought a PP700 SA that originated in Canada. From what I understand, to get my gun up over 500 fps in .22, I’m going to need to drill out the transfer port. Is there any tutorials on how to find it, how to get to it, and how big to drill it out to? Thanks, Chris

    Diana Diana Bandit Question

Can someone please tell me what the OD is of the Bandit air tube? I’m hoping a Buck Rail fore end will fit on my 1701 carbine. Thanks, Chris

HW/Weihrauch Is the hw110 more quiet than the hw100

My 110 is possibly the quietest gun I own. Accurate too. For this reason, it’s my late night wet work gun for rats. I suspect both platforms are similar, but I can only vouch for the 110. Chris

Clip-on NV vs. dedicatated NV scope?

Thank you guys for the feedback. You've definitely given me some things to think about. Chris

Clip-on NV vs. dedicatated NV scope?

Which clip on one do you have? How much length does it add? Thanks, Chris
