    N/A Blue Streak finish

Thanks for that. I too tried a bit of the BC Blackener, thinking that it would be the solution (no pun intended), but was disappointed. I thought about laying it in a pan to soak, but so far haven't done it, and I am not convinced the final product would be much good. From the two replies, I...

    N/A Blue Streak finish

Can anyone help me to identify the finish on the Blue Streak brass barrel and air tube? Was it simply a durable paint finish, or was it "blues" in some fashion? I have a 2K satin black aerosal that I have had great success with on other vintage guns, but I do not want a thick coat on this BS, as...

Crosman Crosman M-400 .22 cal. Repeater!!

"The first variant 400 was said to have a "Load Indicator" incorporated in the system, the 2nd variant did not at least mine did not!!" Garey, I have one of the first variants and was shooting it today. The "Load Indicator" is a small white button that protrudes out the left side of the breech...

    Sheridan Blue Streak crossed threads

Mike, Thanks for the offer to have a look at this gun. I have a couple of C508's in the mail. I am going to gently see if I can make this right with a fresh nut. I bought this rifle as a project, and it certainly has been. It would leak down as fast as you could pump, and I suspect the botched...

    Sheridan Blue Streak crossed threads

The interior threads can only be reached from the rear of the tube; the tube is blocked by the intake port at the end of the compression tube. I've been thinking of buying a new nut, and taking the old one and making cuts in it to act as a thread chaser. Risky though.

Any idea where that odd ball tap might be purchased? I've been scouring the web, but no luck.

    Sheridan Blue Streak crossed threads

Uh-oh. I don't have that size, hope I can find one online! Thanks for that, I would have really bunged the threads up using a 5/8 -32!

Yes, that might work, although the first couple of threads are pretty bunged up.

    Sheridan Blue Streak crossed threads

I am looking for advice on how to accurately chase the threads into which the valve nut is turned. The valve nut (square hole) is made of steel, and the barrel threads are of brass, and located deep in the actual barrel. My concern is now to accurately start my tap into those threads, being so...

    HW/Weihrauch HW30S - Strange Inscription On Barrel

I contacted the vendor from whom I bought the gun and he informed me that the writing was on a shipment he had about a hundred guns. He assumes they were originally special ordered for an Arabic country, maybe Saudi. The writing can be translated as "one who is commended", "Praised", "Glorified".

Got mine from Dan at Cdn Airgun Forum. Is that where you got yours too?

    HW/Weihrauch HW30S - Strange Inscription On Barrel

Was there any resolution to this issue? I just received an HW30 and it also has what appears to be Arabic writing on the breach just behind the rear sight. Very strange.

Crosman I never pass one up

Its not really high pressure, and the tube is very short and well sealed. I don't think it was a terribly weak point. I think trying to make one at home is something I would attempt only if it was impossible to find replacements.
