Trying to keep as much space as possible in my garage/shop, I stuffed a 5HP 2-stage 80gal air compressor in my tiny downstairs bathroom. It had a similar effect when it would unexpectedly top-up.

The 3M sheets are the WTG for simple/effective barrel polishing. I've used diamond lapping pastes on a mop, which also works, but is more of a mess.

I often browse Youtube in private mode... it gives me an idea of how much Google is spying on me with the recommendations. (also, it's fun to see what the algorithm does on a fresh account. Click on the first video you find with a cute woman in the thumbnail... do it three or for times and see...

They do stand behind their products, I will give them that. I left a negative review and got my money back without asking and they left the review up.

I like the pragmatic choice to make the caps hex shaped so they are easy to twist on/off. No reason to worry about aesthetics for a test article.

Check out the NIOSH Sound Level meter. It will give you a number of different measurements and is easy to use. It's a free app (but iOS only as it was impractical to calibrate it for all the different Android models.).

I haven't had any issues with printed threads (once I had adjusted them to print to proper dimensions) On my barrel I had a machined face/shoulder, just past the end of the threads. I designed the moderator to thread on and tighten against that shoulder to help ensure it was square to bore...

Not sure how you are creating your threads... But if you need a little extra clearance, in Fusion360 you can select the face of the thread (one for each face of the helix) and do a small negative extrusion. Maybe .1mm or something. I eventually copied Fusion's library file that had the metric...

@WobblyHand I've had success printing very fine threads with my printer. The AGT Vixen shroud uses M48x1.25mm thread. It's non-standard so I needed to manually specify it as an option in Fusion360 when I designed my own endcaps. The threads in my endcaps have survived repeated use and I haven't...
