    Is it possible to”blue” zamac?

Lots of good info. Thanks everyone! The thing that prompted the question was my Walther LP53 … the barrel is zamac but has a finish that looks much like blued steel. Not sure how they did that. I’m sure Walther has it’s own magic, but for us mere mortals I’m thinking about black chrome … if it...

    Is it possible to”blue” zamac?

While blueing is commonplace with steel guns, I’ve never seen it done with alloy. I think the most common alloy used in many airguns is zamac. I remember people saying you can’t blue that stuff, only paint it or anodize it. Is this still true or is there something new out there?

Charles, just FYI if you find your barrel shroud coming loose (the set screw really isn’t adequate) you can epoxy it in place. I did that to mine. Not sure about the M712 but real C96’s offered different barrel lengths. I’ve thought about getting a second one and modifying the length of the...

Rattlesnake season is back. Time to ready my favorite snake gun … the KWC M712. Semi-auto to scare ‘em off, full auto if they decide to fight back 🙂. Having recently acquired a real Mauser C96, I’m now able to do a proper comparison and I must say KWC did a pretty good job. Even the real grips...

The wife wants to learn to shoot some of my PB's. She's never shot anything before so I figured one of the replica airguns would be a good start. The Springfield 1911 came to mind. Turns out, she likes it ... a lot. I might never see it again :) Once she gets consistent groups we'll talk...

I have a Black Star. If I shoot off a bag or rest, I will need to readjust the sights when I shoot freehand. It’s very grip-sensitive. Took me a long time to gain a consistent grip, then I started to get consistent groups

    Springer vs. PCP

Welcome to the group! It’s a good crowd here. I’ve always leaned towards something I can take into the field with minimal gear. That lead me to a Diana 48 and a Pro Sport. Both have proven to be powerful, accurate, heavy, rock solid reliable, and built to last (wood and steel, none of that...

That Beretta is a remarkably solid piece, with only minimal play in the slide action. Much like the real one. And of course the 600 needs no introduction, one of the very few pellet carbines ever made. Great fun to shoot. I put a silencer on mine only to discover that much of the noise was...

Diana Diana mod 5 worn pivot

New shims installed 👍. Shot a bunch of rounds to adjust the sights and now it’s good as new! No more metal-to-metal contact upon closing the breech, and no more barrel tip-up. I was afraid that the compression of the Oring would vary each time I closed the breech but no, it’s actually quite...

Yes indeed, the HW45 does take some practice to master! Took me a few hundred shots to get a consistent grip on it, as I discovered just how grip-sensitive it is. But after a while a nice tight group began to appear. Not everyone likes a gun that kicks like this but I find it an excellent...

Yes, that confused me a little at first because I was looking for an OD and an ID. When all else fails I read the instructions :).

Something I discovered about these lookalike BB guns … Some of them are such good copies of the originals that even the “real gun” accessories will fit. Grips, sights, suppressors, etc. For example, the KWC M712 shown below is attached to a shoulder stock from a real Mauser C96. No...

I ordered a variety of those Orings online and certainly some of them should fit. Definitely looking forward to getting my old mod 5 back in shape

KWC Makarov_PM at 10 yards. Like other lookalike blowbacks I've had, so much gas goes to the blowback that there's not enough left to drive the BB properly. Both fps and accuracy suffer for it., which adds up to a bit of a disappointment. However that's where the ASG Blasters (plastic BBs) come...
