What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Today i again shot the RAW pistol , I installed the supplied Butt stock and bi pod . ( if pictures say a 1000 words ) i now have a mini hunter . Cool little gun even if it uses a bottle . Very accurate , shooting the 4 inch square splatter target hitting every corner where the lines met .

Tom, I sold my vet 2 to my buddy. He is shooting MRD 25.4 very well. I think around 920-ish??? I have a vet 1 that is shooting the same pellets @940.

Thanks for the reminder Tim.

I do need to try the MRDs in the Vet2. I just got a new AEA 25.39g tin of 500 pellets. Sounds like a good project for next week.

Best of luck at PAC. Bring some of that recent practice “230++” scoring with you for the finals! Regardless, of any outcomes, enjoy the camaraderie.

I shot this card at 40 yards (.125” 10-ring diameter, .04” X-dot) - started with 16 straight Xs counting my 1 sighter…

… the next card and my Power Pups valve exploded - when she was shooting so perfect at 39 ft/lbs…

Sure hope she still shoots like this with a new valve …

I wouldn’t want to be a squirrel climbing on your 40Y bird feeder!

Testing several tins of CPHPs in my Vixen for a trip to the dairy tomorrow. I normally zero at 25Y but it’s been raining all day so I shot indoors at 18Y. AA Falcon pellets are my standard for this gun, to which I compare all other pellets to. The gun is detuned to 580 FPS so we can hunt pigeons indoors.

Tim, fyi.

Tried the 25.39g with the RAW HM1000x.

The Vet 2 prefers th AEA 21.9g (at 910-915 FPS ) vs. the 25.39g.

Oh....YEAH! Superb card! Your barrel really likes the AEA 21gr! How fun!

Thanks Ranch.

For paper target informal competitive purposes, I’m actually pretty happy with the AEA 18.1g & 21.9g. The JTS 22.07g also is very good. The 25.39g is ok, but I think I need to continue to find the best velocity.

You're welcome tommyb! I have mainly been shooting the JSB 18gr single loading but with some tins I really have to CAREFULLY seat them or it will load roughly and I get a flier, if it loads smoothly it is so accurate, same with magazines, maybe I should try seating the pellets deeper with the mags! The older JSB 25gr Monsters load smoothly as well as AVS slugs with no issues whatsoever. I have a tin of MTS 18gr to try out but I have so many JSB 18gr tins that I need to shoot.

My RAW loads both JTS and AEA pellets with more cycle pressure than the softer lead JSB pellets, which are buttery smooth. Not sure if that is due to the harder alloy AEA & JTS pellets, or skirt depth of these pellets that causes more difficulty pushing pellet probe into chamber.

I think slightly lubing pellets may help.
