Leshiy2 and not the original barrels but a FX x600 ......... and no POA / POI issues.
A long hand rail over a barrel, also a shroud can and will help.

my two most stable guns are my daystate revere (barrel band) and my taipan mutant. Both are rock solid woods walkers.

I will have to disagree with you, for those who shoot an open areas, sure shooting a shroudless PCP would work just fine. But for those who can only shoot in their backyards, and it needs to be quiet.

I have taken apart my uragans and Vulcan shrouds off, top rail, out everything back on and at 50yds it's only ever been .1 mil off from original POI. I can only grab them by the shroud either carrying them or switching hands and poi will not shift. These companies really just need to secure their barrels better. 1-2 screw pinching the barrel isn't enough, AGT uses 8 large hex screws.

There is no reason we shouldn't be able to have quiet and reliable air guns.

IMO, the short answer is no. But some are definitely better than others in this regard. I own 2 with which I would be comfortable in the woods, a Taipan Veteran (first series) and an FX Royle 400. I've had poor luck with liner/sleeve systems and POI changes. Also, long moderators that attach at the muzzle create significant leverage if bumped on the end, making a POI change possible. A solid barrel with a long shank section that is well secured in receiver, and with no moderator is maybe the best recipe for avoiding this problem. The Taipan design with a barrel that attaches with a threaded shank may be the most robust and dependable of all. I am not a fan of barrel bands, but the Taipan scope tower (which attaches to the barrel) uses a number of large machine screws for attachment, and it is very solid.

Any difference in poi/ barrel receiver hookup between Taipan 1 and gen 2?

Both Taipan Vet generations have threaded CZ barrels as well as being tensioned (Gen2). My RAW has a stout LW barrel held in by large grub screws and I have never had a POI shift with either.

I would say the Vixen gen 1, they are underwhelming in terms of power and rather long, as well as not as quiet compared to the Uragan compact. Plus the bottle isn't right under your cheek like with the Vixen.

What's different about the Revere's barrel band vs other barrel band guns?

I've shot my Revere with and without the band, and accuracy is fine either way. The potential problem with bands is created if they are not perfectly aligned and create some tension that can exacerbate POI changes. That is likely the case in many instances when someone finds that their rifle shoots better without the band. I think the best system is one in which the barrel is free floated, but attached in a robust way in the receiver. The RAW and Revere both come to mind. But, most all air rifles are relatively fragile compared to most firearms, and require more care in handling.

I do not have problems with a wandering POI unless the scope gets wacky (and then it gets sent back). My SPA bullpups have fairly robust normal barrels (not liners) and get clamped in two places to the airtube. The final cantilever from the last support is about 6 inches on my P35s. POI does not move from handling in my experience which includes use in the field. My Caiman X has a barrel that is attached only at the receiver but the shroud is also only attached at the receiver and does not touch the barrel. I haven't taken it hunting yet but I am not worried about it shifting. The baffles of the Caiman are attached only to the shroud. Stoeger Bullsharks were less than $500 last I looked. If you like long guns I think Stoeger Scouts and Rangers are made similarly and should be fine.
