The user feedback and GX buying experiences contained in this thread, will help potential new CS4 buyers decide what’s best for them.

DROPS ... yeah , that's me .
power surges ... lost thing to them with no storm (brown out) .
i've been known to spill stuff too .
about to push the buttons with the 4 year and gx filter ....

btw .... it also covers malfunctions with the compressor ;)

I'm pulling the trigger and buying at CS4i from Amazon (now with $70 discount). A +3 year warrenty will exactly eat up that discount, but hopefully give me better 3rd party service. $700 delivered.

I can't predict what the world will be like in 3 years, but I believe I will want my compressor working.

Many thanks for everyone's feedback. It's great to have insights and experiences on this stuff.

2 YEARS AGO, I bought a CS4 from Amazon plus the 3 year Asurion warranty.
Last month it stopped compressing air. It had run for about 70 hours.
I filed a claim and 2 days later, Asurion emailed a coupon code to buy a new unit through Amazon at the current price. Asurion's 3 year warranty was well worth the $69.
Another CS4 plus a new 3 year warranty is on the way.

Were you filling tanks or guns directly with the pump that failed? If tanks, what size?

This is really good to hear.

When I started the thread, I was hoping for some real life experiences with the Amazon ( Asurion ) warranty. 70 hours in 2 years is a pretty good use of your CS4.

The fact that they gave you a full refund / coupon to replace with a new CS4, that included another extended warranty was well worth it.

I have not gone back and counted how many CS4 buyers in this thread have had to use the warranty, but I think it was a half dozen or more. Good to know it is working for those that had to replace their CS4.

You'll need a pin wrench to replace some of the seals.

If TF or GX doesn't have them or won't ship...I have complete seal kits, with the tools, and can ship worldwide.
