N/A Lube or no lube on o-rings??

Hello all, I am pulling my .25 Marauder apart as it appears to have a broken popit valve. Anyway I am replacing all the o-rings while it is apart and was considering putting a thin coat of silicone grease on the o-rings. I also see a chap on this site selling regulator butter for regulator rebuilds.

So my question is do you lube your rings? And if so what do you use?

Silicone.

Yes you need to lube them. If you don't have any silicone, your other option is to go buy some silicone. A small tube will last you a long time.

Ideally, silicone grease for static O-rings to aid with assembly and improve O-ring longevity. Silicone oil for dynamic O-rings...those that slide like a bolt or breech O-ring, fill probe O-rings, etc..

Silicone grease is sold inexpensively as automotive dielectric grease.

Silicone oil is sold inexpensively as "silicone shock oil" for RC cars.

PCP silicone grease. Always, for me. I deburred the tube better on my g1 mrod 25 and it quit messing up so many orings on reassembly..... Even if I guide them past the holes in the tube it used to knick them. Not anymore.

Definitely silicone grease, it can prevent damage during assembly

Thank you and that’s exactly what I was thinking.

I got a tube of silicone grease and have greased all the orings I have replaced in the past but it never hurts to hear what others do.
