N/A Cleaning your springs

Took a run in town to pick up a new rest, recommended by Beertheif, and a beauty it is.
On way home I noticed the auto supply was slack. Need break cleaner to do spring changes. The guy warned me it’s no longer dry but leaves an oil residue thanks to our old fearless leader Trudeau banned the chemical just before he left. This in all of Canada.
Nowhere to be found. Oh no Mister Bill.
I cried in store so, the guy found this. Same thing but electrical is included. He said more money but bigger can. Works out close.

I don’t know if there’s any substitute. Just warning other Canadian members. Don’t know if happening in US. Crow

You have any denatured alcohol? Hit that residue with it and see if it comes off. Bet it will.
Yup. I use DA to degrease and dry dovetail grooves and scope rings. Good stuff. Don't get any on a wood stock.

Crow you don't have to get the springs sterile unless you're going to krytox. Just lay the top of the spring across a twisted paper towel, wrap the towel around the spring once and thread the springs full length through the towel.

Thanks. I’ll use that method for cleaning spring. Where I use the spray the most is when cleaning the barrel cylinder and piston. Crow
