N/A Who is Ahead in PCP Air gun Technology?

Who ... ?

Those Tuners & Tinkerers among us who do the R&D others bring to market, alter & modify existing platforms and go down the rabbit holes of differing design types.
Sadly in such situations where On-Line R&D of others gets scoped up by random manufactures, what comes to market many times is just a edited or lets say dumbed down version that created the inspiration to do something similar, and really is yet to get the bugs worked out.

Copying either in exacting or loose translation is as they say ... The sincerest form of flattery !!!! So for all the unsung heroes no matter where in the world ... WE SALUTE YOU !!!

As too what manufacturer ? .... Sweden certainly churns out the most variable in design. The EU certainly has an eye on the prize & tries the evolving tech more than others .... USA indeed is home of some of the most advanced High-Tech think tank R&D we are seeing getting made around the globe.

Thanks to the World Wide Web, Forums, Discussion boards, behind the science discovery and testing shared, we in the AG hobby in recent years have witnessed Global Change in air weapons system and applied tech more than any generation before us.

After buying a Western Mordax Venom I'd say it's nothing short of a modern marvel - precise, reliable, capped 15 shot removable mags, semi and full auto, compact, lightweight, and what it comes down to is the most fun airgun I've ever had. It's a flat out innovative piece of engineering.

Topped off with a equally amazing and very appropriate scope and I'm over the top happy with the combo.

There are a few companies that come to mind:

1) Skout - First company to incorporate a spool valve into an airgun. Seemlessly transferring the very best paintball technology into an airgun. A perfect blend of electronic and pneumatic tech.

2) Huben - The first company to make a hammerless air rifle (revealed at IWA in 2015). More importantly they developed an entirely new valve! I don’t know the name of this valve but I like to call it the leaky valve since it never completely seals. There is a micro indentation on the surface of the valve that allows a small amount of air to bypass. It functions like a regulator with a heavy spring that regulate air flow in conjunction with the regulator. This is essential to the semi auto, hammerless operation of the rifle. Other companies have “utilized” this design such as: LCS and Western Airguns.

3) Edgun - instead of improving upon the design of another company, Ed chose to develop a unique semi auto, hammerless airgun. The incorporation of a pilot valve to open the main valve is a clever way to achieve semi-auto in an airgun.

4) Altaros - developed a way to create slugs with CNC technology. The results are extremely consistent weight and diameter. No need to sort or size these slugs. With their high BC they have quickly become a go to slug for competition shooters.
