Yeah, had an uncle get attacked by an owl one time, tore up his head, but he still laughed at it. Man, I'll tell you what, I love swallows and stuff, but they are scarry! I was walking along hunting groundhogs when, BOOM BOOM BOOM! Man, those swallows were big time buzzing me, trying to eat me alive, I had to retreat. They had a nest nearby, so that is the reason. One time I was walking in the cottonwood grove below my house right after sunset and this giant black shadow flew just a few feet above me and scared the crap out of me haha… it was one of the Ravens giving me a buzz.
Once many decades back I was out coyote calling using mouth calls. I had a brown/tan camo 'jeep cap' on. While calling, something slammed into my head from the back & side! A Red Tailed hawk saw me moving my head left & right looking for an in coming coyote and the hawk thought my head was an injured rabbit! To this day I think about that encounter every time I'm out calling coyotes!Yeah, had an uncle get attacked by an owl one time, tore up his head, but he still laughed at it. Not certain. Looks like a type of hawk. But it could very well could be a Harrier. I see him every morning on top of the tallest tree.Yeah, they have a tendency to do that, for sure. Is that a Harrier?
