A got a used FX Royale500 .25 about a month ago and it shoots theJSB King 25.39 gr. Diabolos very accurately how ever I would like to get it to shoot flatter. AoA has a sale on Nielsen Specialty slugs. I ordered a box of their 29 gr. hollow points. I see that the smooth bore short rifled barrel may not stabilize slugs very well. I will certainly find out but in the mean time has anybody had experience with this combination?
Am I going to be disappointed.

Slug accuracy out of a pellet barrel is always a crapshoot, disappointment is common. Pellets self-stabilize by design, slugs need speed and spin. Pellets don't appreciate much spin, that's why your FX barrel just imparts a little prior to exit. Maybe the slugs will find enough spin to be happy, test them to see. Best of Luck, WM

I don't think you will get the slugs to stabilize with the slow twist rate of an FX 500. Use pellets and be happy you have the best pellet shooter ever. It might shoot great at 25-30 yards but no good at 50 because of destabilization. If those slugs do work I'll be the first to buy some. Good luck. I have two FX 500's.

I totally agree with the first two gentleman. I have tried it with no luck. But if you really want to shoot slugs buy one with the right twist rate and you’ll be in business. Good luck Jack

Did you try adjusting the regulator pressure 10-20 bar higher? That will increase your FPS. I would do that first.
Also if you do get slugs remove the barrel and, using a wooden dowel, push a pellet from the breech end out the end. Note the amount of pressure. Then do the same with the slug. It should feel close to the same pressure as the pellet. Too loose and the slug will not grab the rifling and will not stabilize. Too tight and the slug will be slowed and destabilize in flight.
