"Arrow or the indian?"

I greatly enjoy the pondering, rambling and obsessive musing such threads create.

In my little world of 20 different HFT rigs all $750.00 plus, not counting $ scopes $, I’ve learned an interesting tidbit..

Regardless of how expensive, amazing and accurate the Airgun, the Indian will carry his habits, both good and bad, from one rig to the next.

My stats, indicate that my more expensive rigs minimize some of my human errors or bad habits while the less expensive ones magnify them. ?? Hmmm??

Part two:

We tend to be drawn to our “more comfortable to use“ or top performing rig to shoot again and again… also making us more proficient with that particular platform. Unfortunately if we develop certain habits, good or bad, with that particular system, we will drag those idiosyncrasies with us and the results may be…..less than stellar.

Beware the shooter who has just one gun, not only because he knows his weapon, but also because he has better learned to control or minimize his weaknesses (bad habits) when behind a specific trigger.
Yes indeed ... in the last 14 years of shooting FT I've certainly fooled a bit with different rifles for short stints, but when I've been serious in the shooting nearly every single match won be it Fun matches, GP's, Nationals etc has been with 1 rifle and scope combo. This Indian has loved his chosen bow/arrow combo, but like all aging Indians when getting now beat on the field of battle has changed up his arrows a bit :sneaky:

It’s interesting to me, that some guns, like the Redwolf are so smooth and easy to use that (I personally) don’t slow down enough to settle in to my shot = miss.

Think of EVERY shot as if using your 5 cards to build a house ( house of cards ) as there is only one successful way to have it stand with all other miens ending in failure.
