Daisy Daisy 753 Tiger Maple - Restoration Complete

The restoration of this 1999 Daisy 753 is now complete. The Tiger Maple stock really came to life. I’m thrilled to be the next caretaker of this treasure. The gun is totally rebuilt. New seals, foam gasket, cocking lever, piston, bolt, bolt lock, valve, piston tube, piston tube body and springs. It is shooting strong at 520fps using RWS Basic 7 grain wadcutters. Accuracy test is next. I will let the several coats oil now dry for a few weeks. Then remove the action and give the stock several more coats of oil. Then probably repeat one more time. To much oil build up to quickly can slow the drying process down. Thank you everyone for your advice with the restoration.

Even for tiger maple that is an exemptional piece of wood. You don't often see it figured that nicely on veneers for guitar tops! Beautiful!

Daisy designs these rifles to accommodate all ages of shooters from 16 on up. The rifles are shipped with three plastic butt pad spacers that lengthen the stock to the individual’s preferences. This Tiger Maple stock deserves better. IMHO. Looking around online I got some interesting ideas. This is a version of some combinations of what I saw. The first picture is of one I recently restored with the three plastic spacers. Then the modification.
