What springer did you shoot today?

Iron sights this afternoon started with a Weihrauch Baracuda. View attachment 592009Using it, I noticed a bad breach seal needs replacing. View attachment 592010Looks like cork. Is there a replacement? Is there a synthetic breach seal available?
‘Next up a Diana K98 .22. Don’t know why but love this gun. It wacks. View attachment 592040Cool day mid 60’s. No bugs. Crow
Crow that is the most cleanest, organised table I’ve ever seen in any of your pics. Did your missus clean up while you were scuba diving.🤔

I got to squeeze in a few 5 shot 25 yard groups before dark with the 97.

Finally back shooting after taking a crash course diving. Sure feels good to shoot. Got a little time to shoot today 68f. Best weather. Nights drop mid 40’s and wipes out the bugs.
Started with a new favorite HW97 .20. This gun is begging for a spring.View attachment 591848and its brother another .20 cal. with a Vortek spring. Sweet guns. View attachment 591862This HW50 .22 is so accurate. It has a TbT kit and a Vortek piston seal. View attachment 591863Might have to get that blue lam after all.
Got so addicted to shooting had to do a little night shooting.View attachment 591865Night shooting is the best. Will be doing more and more night shooting as the days shrink. Crow
When you say a new spring is that a 12 fpe spring , so it's easier to manage the shots , and cocking effort.
On the cork breech seal did you find a replacement. Being as it's cork maybe a piece of plastic tubing cut off to the perfect size would work. I mean that has got to be more durable than wine stopper.OV.

Here in Tucson , Az we get a lot of stereotyping of New York from movies ect. That area looks very beautiful. OV
That's because it's Arkansas. I bailed out of that dung heap 2 years ago. I guess need to update my profile here.

In all fairness upstate NY is just as beautiful and it's full of good people. There's good people in downstate NY too but they're too outnumbered by trash to matter.

Be well
Ron

Glad you are here in Arkansas!

Crow ,
The R9 is a Beeman , but really it's just a HW rebrand of a HW 30 right. ?
Close. The R9 = HW95. R7 = HW30. All excellent rifles.
Don’t know him. There was a gentleman on another forum I believe “Old Gringo”. His trusty HW30 was his saviour. Slowly he sold his bigger guns but the 30 lasted to the end. Bless his soul. That planted a seed in me.
I have several 30’s - R9’s and different springs by 3 manufacturers to mix them up. Incredible rifle. Crow

I do have 12 FPE springs. I believe the after market springs are much better than stock. I have at least 35 spring sets to install. Also have Vortek piston seals for all. Don’t know how to get rid of the line.

I didn’t address the 50 breach. Thanks for idea. Crow

ON your Protector rest , did you buy the slippery cloth one or plain leather ?

I got the leather one. But found that it relaxed to the point where I scuffed the finish off bottom of stock. from the Aluminum.
Sometimes I cover with material. Crow
Which is better?
Order the slippery cloth one it lets the gun recoil on its own , i find it improves accuracy with my guns mostly with the springers
shoulder and one hand trigger grip , no front hand

Here's a FWB300 from 1970-71. These were made 1969-72, total around 50,000, this one had a double spring which I thought was only used in the 300S? Original, little used gun, had a crumbled breech seal with a pretty good piston buffer: maybe the breech seal ages out before the buffer?
As with all the 10 meter airguns, more accurate than me...:)
