How long do you let the dehumidifier run before starting up the compressor?
@miamiguy2017 Generally a hour on a timer that shuts the dehumidifier down. Sometimes I forget and have to run it again because the RH will go back up over time. Running the unit again heats up the room making it warmer. At this point I have to be mindful of the ambient air temperature as well. When the relative humidity drops below 40% I will top off a tank if I’m pressed for time. I prefer RH below 35%, but depending upon the ambient temperature below 40% is fine. It’s a balance between humidity and temp for me. I prefer RH below 35% and around 80F. I bleed the 1st & 2nd stage valves after 3-4 minutes. When topping off one tank I may not run the compressor for 5 minutes total time. When topping off multiple tanks I keep temp and humidity in mind and still bleed 3-4 minutes in. I have not felt any moisture when I bleed the fill whip. That’s good enough indication for me that the desiccants are doing their job.

It’s good to have a dehumidifier that exhausts the hot air outdoors. I run a portable unit that does not.
