Skout .22 caliber 28 inch LW barrel

Recently received a .22 caliber 28 inch LW poly barrel 1:15.75 twist for my @Skout-airguns Evo. Up to this point I had been using an FX liner adaptor and 700mm Superior Heavy 1:16 twist.
The FX liner shot both the @Altaros King 40 grain and the ACE Corbin 40.1 grain very well, with a slight nod going to the Altaros.
I installed the .22 LW at the range. One item is that this barrel can be indexed easily and was already marked from Skout which orientation should be up at 0 degrees. Awesome!
So I first shot the ACE Corbins at 104 yards and it was easy, even in switching winds to keep all shots inside the 9 ring on an EBR target (MOA). I shot them between 880 and 910 fps, and got a BC of 0.196 RA4.
Then I shot the Altaros King 40 grain at the same distance. Accuracy was slightly better than the ACE, with the majority of shots in the 10 ring and one or two in the 9 ring (SubMOA). Same speed as the ACE, and got a BC of 0.209 RA4.
Same conditions, same speeds, same distance, same barrel, same gun. It outperformed the FX Superior Heavy liner by a small but measurable amount.
Also, the Altaros performed with a bit better precision than the ACE Corbin, and with a better BC.
I did not try either of the slugs at higher speeds. I’ll try soon to see how the Skout LW 28 inch does with pellets, specifically the AEA 21.9 at approx 960-980 fps.

Altaros .22 caliber 40 grain King at 104 yards breezy switchy conditions.

Yikes Mike! Those @Altaros keep delivering!
Don’t forget the Skout .22 cal 28 inch 1:15.75 shooting the 40.1 grain ACE Corbin’s better than the barrel they were designed around, the FX Superior Heavy (Slug) 1:16 twist. Amazing new barrel! Great job @Skout-airguns and Lothar-Walther. 😎

Gerry, despite what you see in AGN or IG/Utube, the @Altaros are the Premier state of the art slug for airguns. Yes, other BT slugs such as ACE Corbin and ZAN are very good, but not quite up to Altaros standards.

If Altaros made a 20-22gr bt I'd try em in the Eddy

The new .22 LW for @Skout-airguns is as good with pellets as it is with slugs!

I shot the AEA 21.9, same as JTS 22.07, today with the .22 LW 28 inch 1:15.75 Skout barrel in my Evo.
I was shooting at 50 and 104 yards. It was pretty windy and I shot a no sighter 247 on an N50 target, no .35 plug. At 104 yards I was keeping 9 out of 10 in the nine ring on an EBR target.

Yup. This barrel is the real deal. I shot the pellets at 960, 975, and 990 fps, and it was the same at all three speeds so I set it at 965-970 fps. The BC on these at those speeds in the LW barrel is approx 0.060 GA.

Highly recommended barrel for your Skout. I am shooting it at One Gun at EBR this year…
