Do you stand up , or lay down

Any limit on how long a rifle can be left alone or stored with a charge?
It's necessary for multi pumps , and PCP'S to be stored with a charge.
Multi pumps 2 pumps. PCP A 1,000 will do , but some store them just above the adjustable reg setting.
I have stored them overnight with a full charge many times. I don't like to leave any of my rifles , or pistols for more than 3 months without adding a little lube to o rings , or seals , and shooting them a few times. I don't leave a rifle cocked when stored , and never cock a Springer , or gas ram to be stored . OV.

Will oil actually rot wood? Ive never thought about that. I always figured it would protect it. Unless the oil is trapping pre existing moisture? I have no idea, to be honest. But I've never worried about getting oil on my wood. Ugh, that doesnt sound right 😅
Watching gunsmith videos. Were often talking about guns that are a hundred years old. The oil gets into the butt stock and the wood deteriorates. Me, I don't have anything older than 20 years, and only one with a wooden stock. Can't beat a wooden stock for beauty, but can't see it when its in a gun sock and in the safe..
