AEA AEA HP Max - puff of air in face??

Hello all, this is my first post.

I have a German spec (7.5J) AEA HP Max and when firing it I get a little puff of air straight into my eye from the hole at the rear of the receiver where the cooking handle is.
It'll be easy to fix by turning up a delrin 'bung' to fill the hole, but I just wondered, Is this a common thing?
I would add a picture of the hole if you can. The only hole on the rear of my max reciver is where the pellet probe goes into. With the cocking handle on it

That's the one 👍

I'm wondering if, because the transfer port hole is so small (to restrict to 6/12fpe) there is excess air venting out. The hammer and valve must release way more air than can get through the tiny hole.

I know when I cock mine the bolt is flush with the reciver, so it wouldn't leave room for a plug. Maybe crystal clear gorilla tape would direct the air out the slot on the side? I use a piece of that tape on the inside face of the folding stock to take the wiggle out.
