I have one of these (Eotec Vudoo) on a powder burner for medium range 6.5 Grendel and would say the glass is ok, but don't be fooled by the size-it's a boat anchor...Its a little heavy for an airgun- just my 2cents

This is barely on topic question so I first have to say I love good budget items and learning their compromises. I will be exploring your link.
My question is on your preference for SFP.
I don't know any FFPs that are really great at focusing in close like 10 yards that have a good set of qualities after that. Close parallax/ focus adjustment on FFPs are either extremely expensive or have so much going on inside that light transmission is poor even with good glass.

In preference for SFP are you mostly hunting or target or looking for versatility for whatever it is you feel like doing that day?

I love SFP if I just need 12 or 16x I can dial from 2.5 or 3 and have a huge fov dial in to max and send it. I usually write my drops at 8 and 12 and that is a pain but its ok.
If you ask me I am FFP only but when I think about it that isn't the case at all.
Anyway, I figure you know about optics if brands are hitting you up and wanted to pick your brain. Hope that's ok.

Edit: apparently I should have looked at your scope before expressing things I don't like because it looks like, if all that is legit, then this scope is amazing.

I'm an HFT and BR shooter primarily. I prefer a reticle that doesn't change size every time I change magnification. When you turn the mag down on an FFP scope, you can barely see the reticle, at least for my old eyes. For HFT, you want the retticles as large as possible for holdover. I don't hunt, so those folks may prefer FFP for that application.

I got mine a few days ago and put it on my .25 impact. I hunted with it for two days. So far, I like it. The ret is thick enough for my eyes, and the daylight bright dot is lovely. It has zero stop, and I removed that. I have not used it enough to say how well I really like it.

I have the NX8 2.5-20×50 and it's a great little scope. You come off the 2.5 power just a bit and the reticle is easily seeable. Likewise, at full power those long range shots are right there in your face and crystal clear. The dials are accurate, crisp and concise and the throw ring smooth even without a lever attached.

I'm sure it's top quality and EOTech has a flawless reputation, but they are too rich for my blood.

Since Chaz like'd my post here reminding me of this, and I actually got a small Western Mordax Venom which is my project as of lately, I put my March Shorty DFP 1-10x28 on this gun.

Mind you this is a very expensive scope and at 10x the IQ isn't great, actually I'd say barely ok, and for example I kept it at 8x yesterday just to keep the IQ cleaner, which is a sad thing to need to do.

So a very compact scope, 10x magnification ratio (to be clear not the magnification "range" I'm talking about), and the optical compromises cannot be engineered out it at 10x magnification.

That's why I'm leery of super short scopes.

That doesn't mean I'm not curious about these GPO's being that the mag ratio is 4x.

Is yours the 3-12 or the 4-16?

How do you feel about your scope now, like in the upsides and downsides?

Being concerned I'll buy a compact scope I'm not happy with in quality, and least not the features I've come to appreciate lately, I'm tempted to spend the big bucks.

In a odd spot right now as far as optics go because that March 1-10, which is currently on my Mordax Venom, needs to go back on my AR. This scope is more like a 1-8 if wanting it's best IQ. Well I needed 1x too since CQC home defense, thus why previously on the AR.

That being said this 1-10 scope is excellent in every other way and I must admit I like that red daylight bright center dot a lot!!!

I can't find anything else on the market like it except for it's big brother which is the March 1.5-15×42 so I'm leaning that way. It'll probably be more like a 1.5 to 13 IQ wise but it looks like I'm going to have to accept that down side and that it's 22 oz.

Dual Focal Plain/DFP is a fantastic feature to have, also a daylight bright dot is too, it's compact length is nice, and well most everything else is winning me over after spending many hours using the 1-10 recently.

so you do extra for the money In my part of the country , men set up a lawn mowing service and after work (say 2 nights a week ) they mow two home lawns . $30 each which is a cheep price for this area , mowing every 2 weeks , so 4 homes = $240 a month instead of sitting in front of the TV . $240 x 7 months is a new FX. Mk whatever it is now . IF that is what it takes and you want a new air toy !
