Moderators over 2" in Diameter

I tried one I had fabricated a few years back using 2" 1/16' wall aluminum. I was actually disappointed in that the lets say CAN started to resonate similar to an unregulated PCP's air tube .... Big time PING !!!!!
Tried wrapping foam or carpet on I.D. but it did little to damp the PING !!!!

Hope you get better results :cautious:

The largest I've been able to find is 2". I'd like to find one thats bigger. Do you know of any manufacturers that have anything larger than 2"?

Yes I do. I know of one that will make me one of any dimensions. I requested from them a 10" length custom cut for my big bores (.58-72), but they gave me a choice of going 2.5" and 3" OD if I wanted to keep the same quietness of a Great Kami..... in fact the 3"x10" would do better than the Kami.

But......I need to see these thicknesses on a gun before I tell them to fabricate away, LOL. If I don't like the look, then I will tell them 2"x10".

this is a 2 if that helps at all

Yeah the only thing I can think of off the top of my head thats quick but crude would be to get some pvc or abs and whatever couplers and fittings to mock up a rough model according to your dimensions. I have never seen or heard of anyone having or offering those dimensions or I would have been all over it. African Air Ordinance offers some big bore suppressors but I dont remember the OD. Its called the Air Beast. From what I have read and from personal experience, suppressors with a larger circumference (more volume) are typically more quiet but its not always the case. I have an STO sarissa and it out performs everything I have currently. If you wouldn't mind referring me to whomever it is that makes those sizes I would really appreciate it. I'd like to see the final product whenever you have it in hand. Thanks!

I took the internals from the Donny FL Emperor and threaded it on the end of my Gen 1 AGT Uragan King in .30 cal. I re felted it and ordered a tube of carbon fiber and cut it to the right size. Finished it off by drilling some holes close to the breach end. The end result is a slightly stretched version of the original King. I also did the same thing to my Gen 1 AGT Vixen .22 cal. except I threaded the Ronin on the end of the barrel. Now its a Vixen XL lol.

I was asked by him not to reveal publicly his name, as he feels he will be run down with requests and doesn't want to make a lot of them. I totally understand too, because it will solve the length issues people have, while maintaining the same level of moderation.
He says 3"x10" would be better than the Kami.....but what would that look like....😬 LOL. That's why I started this thread. :ROFLMAO:

3" OD might be a bit much esthetically but it would depend on what its going on, personal preference really.

You're right on the 3", I can feel it. The 2.5" is the one I need to see. If I can't find any pics online today, then I will go by the auto parts store as suggested or Lowe's and buy some pipes that diameter.

I’d just roll some thick material paper, a poster maybe, instead of spending money on tubes for simulation.

Go down to the auto parts store and get a car muffler.

Thank you! It is pretty quiet however, as I'm sure you are aware moderators only do so much if you are shooting at a high reg pressure. I am always trying to find new and better ways to bring down the bark. Mostly because I've been doing a lot of backyard shooting. That will change as soon as the temp drops a little in Az.
