I got a mk2 impact with a 700mm barrel, and was wondering what pellets or slugs are you guys using. Im new to the fx line up
Don't know, i got it used so not sure what the previous owner had on inDepends on the twist rate of your barrel/liner. Mine has a 1:37 and it likes JSB 44.5 or better yet AEA 45 gr pellets. Slugs? Not so much.
I haven't played with the regulator, it has a rusty screw so I didn't what to strip it, i was waiting for oring kit to arrive to disassemble l it completely to soak everything in evaporustI don't have an mk2 but I have a m3 700mm .30. It depends alot on the twist and working out a tune. I just put a 1/40 on mine and worked 5 different tunes all around 880 till it finally shot good. Play with different reg pressures and valve adjustments. For example I tried 100bar reg at 880-885 and it shot terribly, tried 110bar same result, dropped it to 90bar and it is same hole at 35yds with jsb 44s. They are a little frustrating but once you get it right they shoot very well. This is why I prefer a RAW which all you have to do is shoot it.
You can determine that yourself. Remove the liner. You will note that the rifling is also obvious on the outside of the liner. Just measure how much the liner's twist is over a certain distance. When you put the liner back in, screw in the nut by hand till it contacts the liner, then tighten it no more than 1/4 turn. Tighter is not better.Don't know, i got it used so not sure what the previous owner had on in
I will definitely look into a the regulator, and ill check a video on how to determine the twist rate, since I have never really done it.You can determine that yourself. Remove the liner. You commented on the regulator. Older FX rifles tend to experience reg creep, especially when you start adjusting them in larger numbers. This is primarily due to the O rings in the reg becoming stiff and brittle. Just remove it, clean it and replace the O rings. Don't forget to replace the O ring inside the reciever block which can be a bet tricky, but necessary. Don't scratch anything in the process. Use a good quality O ring lube too. If you really want to, you can upgrade your reg to the new AMP configuration by replacing the Delrin piston with a brass one. I believe you can get them from Utah Airguns' parts department. The FX regs are ok and no need to replace them with HUMA.
What velocity have you found to work well for the JTS 33.80s?Caliber?
In .25 the fx 34gr pellets perform excellently here, as does the JTS Dead Center Precision 33.80 grain.
In .22 the FX 25.4gr.
The JTS .22/25.39gr acting strange...deadly accurate but for some reason every 5 or 6 shot it gives a flyer??
JTS .22 / 22.07 gr doing best in the DRS 600mm
Wanted to try AEA, but here in Europe they are extremely expensive and this hold me back from testing ( $28/tin )
I have an unmodified .22 700 mm Impact Mk II. At 135 Bar reg and 925 fps, It prefers JSB 25.39 pellets but only certain lots shoot really well.I got a mk2 impact with a 700mm barrel, and was wondering what pellets or slugs are you guys using. Im new to the fx line up
