FX I finally got into fx airguns

I like the Huma high flow probe and transfer-port and the FX Carbon Fiber liner sleeve to start out with. If your MK2 has the small plenum, the Power Block 72cc Plenum conversion kit is a really good to upgrade as well.
Yes it has the small plenum, I was looking for places that had it cheaper but its all the same price everywhere, also I got it with cerakote paint so I wouldn't go for a carbon fiber, its a fde/tan finish i really love it.

Plenum on a poppet valve guns are tricky. The number of variables that can limit effectiveness are many. Primary is poppet dwell. How long does the poppet remain open before the spring and air pressure close it. If the dwell is short a larger volume plenum will be wasted.

Ports, 90° turns, barrel length all can affect the effectiveness of a plenum.

Optimally you would want a plenum 3x-4x the size of your barrel volume. But due to all the limitations, due to poppet valve guns design, the effective size is limited to some value less.

Each type of gun is unique with regard to plenum volume. Some they are useless. The Umarex Gauntlet has a tiny feed hole from the regulator to the gun. Adding a plenum does nothing.

As far as I know the only way to determine effective volume is trial and error.

What are the best upgrades to make, i have a fx impact mk2 .25 cal.

Also have a notos .22 with fx barrel/liner
A hatsan gladius .22 stock
A niksan escalate T
IMO the most suitable upgrade is patience.
Shoot the gun for a while and get very familiar with it first

just my too cents

I agree with @SilentSquirrel. Shoot it and see what it will do. I’d be willing to bet it will do just fine unless you are looking for absolute top power to shoot the super heavy 25 slugs. I wouldn’t dive into a bunch of upgrades. You start getting plenum and power block kits unless you got a screaming deal on it you very well might end up with more money into it than a used m3 goes for. Impacts are surrounded by a vortex of pricey bolt on upgrades. That vortex will do everything in its power to draw you in. In my opinion unless you are on the bench competing and trying to squeeze every point out of it are by and large unnecessary.

I agree with cahil_2. Leave it alone and see how it performs. My M2 has the "power plenum" which is one step up from the original Impact M1. It shoots perfectly fine. The probe and dual transfer port will get you a few fps, like 15-25, if that's important to you. Barrel sleeve? I doubt you will notice much difference. You don't have to "ghetto-ize" your rifle to make it shoot better. You are in control and accuracy depends on your marksmanship. Those older Impacts are pretty good rifles as they are. They were designed and tuned to shoot pellets and 860-900 fps is the sweet spot. If you get lured into big power and slugs, be prepared to spend $$$ on liners, hammers, tuning, blah blah blah.

I also bought a poppet valve but could not get it to stop leaking so I returned to oem one

Hammer spring, hammer and poppet spring can change poppet dwell.

Ive been thinking of a way to measure the volume of air through the poppet. The problem is that dry firing an FX can damage the gun where the hammer strikes the poppet. That was true on the older FX SmoothTwist (Boss, Royale and Bobcat) but I dont know if it is still true.

A gross indicator could be as simple as putting a balloon on the barrel and watching how far it inflated. Probably only effective measuring the difference between plenums. Adjustments like hammer spring would probably be less obvious.

I have been shooting Impacts for a while now along with a Maverick and had two Pantheras.
If you have time red through threads on the forum by searching “Impact help” or “Impact problem”. What you will find is guns that have been modified, hopped up or hung with every ego ornament available will make up the majority of Impact issues.
Impacts are wonderfully adaptable with an infinite number of alterations available. Unfortunately, a lot of what is sold requires an understanding of how the gun works and without that you will just step off a cliff you will Wish you hadn’t.
Surprisingly, Impacts straight off the shelf with a proper tune are very good shooters and quite reliable. As others have said patience and practice will provide more satisfaction than any modification

I agree taking time to get to know the gun is crucial, i was just trying to know the possibilities the g
Rifle has, and what other had done and suggests not doing.

not faulting you friend. Find out all you can and this forum is a great place to learn with lots of qualified opinions. Just stating that my opinion is the Impact is at its best with the fewest modifications your desires will allow.
If your desires take you down the road of tons of mods and add ons, by all means go down that path. Just go down it well armed with knowledge.
Three years of messing with FX airguns has taken me from add ons and guns tuned and modded to shoot 22 slugs at high speeds then back to pellet shooters and two slug guns that are running moderate speeds with minimal modifications. One gets tired of chasing issues and finally contemplates that perhaps all these problems are being caused by my need for power and all the changes made to the gun to achieve it.
We all start on the same road but go different directions. The journey is half the fun. enjoy it.

Thanks for the advice, I'm only thinking the 720 plenum change but not right now, it was an expensive buy so I'm trying it out like it its for now
