Todays Trifecta ... lazy sunday just watching the front yard for pests

Wife & I have a nice yard we spend countless hours maintaining. Tho living semi rural the critters seem to like it too. Holes get dug looking for worms & grubs etc ... non native plants get eaten & browsed on.
Now overall that is fine to a point when & where they become troublesome, and as we enter late summer they have been tearing up the house & yard pretty good.

So today I took random visual yard scans between relaxing and other too do's around the home .... As it would turn out in the 26 years we have lived here I've never had such a day :cautious:

Started about 9am, look out front and digging in landscape a Red / Fox squirrel ... ZAP !! one less.
Then 2pm or so find a very rare to see Ground Squirrel doing similar ... ZAP !! now even rarer.
Here about 2:45pm a pair of Jack Rabbits are all the way to house and in the flower beds munching away ... ZAP !! one hightails it off property, other stays for dinner :ROFLMAO:

Tree Rat, Ground Rat, Bugs .... Trifecta kinda day

Sounds like you took care of business! Have you tried marigolds? French Marigolds are supposed to be the best.

Critters know better than to come into my friend's yard on the weekends. Him and his sons killed hundreds of pest.

His wife has a couple of bird feeders that are very well guarded.

Tons of song birds and humming birds hang out. The chickadees will land on the rifle barrels occasionally.

Grackle, starlings, cow birds, hosps, squirrels and raccoons do not even cross his property lines any more.

Was a boring summer, only shot one grackle.
