On this gun I didn’t have to make my own stuff to put in the shroud. Air-fective had a kit. It works.

Tuning Artemis P15 Woes

How does that kit mount on? The stock shroud uses only one grub screw, which irritates me. Does the Air-fective kit mount better? And is it worth the high cost in your opinion?

It doesn’t mount on, it mounts in. You take all the metal baffles out of the shroud, take the stock muzzle brake off the barrel, then install their stuff. If your gun is tuned properly and not wasting air, it’s worth every penny. It’s as quiet as anyone should need. I added another grub screw or two in the rear shroud mount on mine. The TJ barrel was slightly smaller diameter than the stock barrel.

That's good to know. The LW barrel I'm installing is going to be slightly smaller too. I'd prefer to run a shroud since I'm adding some length to both the barrel and air tube with the XL plenum. Adding a moderate would just make this gun extremely long. Still a not as long as my Gauntlet though lol.

My larger plenum is internal and a one piece CNC machined piece. It took up some air space but didn’t make my gun any longer. If I were you I would make one investment at a time with the gun. After the barrel, poppet, spring, plenum and possibly porting job, make sure the gun is worthy of a good shroud kit. You might wind up dumping the gun in the classifieds and most guys will just hang a giant can on the end of it.

I like the look on my P35 with an after market silencer...besides, its easy to put out, so it can be transported in a backpack...in reality a snowshoes backpack.
First I dismounted the stock from the rifle, and the handle from the manual pump. These are in the "first level", then a corrugated carton nad over it the barrel and air tank+sight. all of this protected with 1" planks of closed cell foam. With a pair of 250, 5,5mm pellets can weighs a total of 8 kilos/17,6 pounds.

did you ever sort your poppet valve out mate? I've got the same problem in a way I'm without a poppet lol but this may help as I'm not sure how old this is Ali express sell poppet's but there a bit big if you can sand them and cut them to the required size. here's a few pic's, all i need to know is the size of the poppet, I don't suppose you know that do you by any chance? all the best

On souping these things up.
For the 25cal be aware that as you start getting into more serious porting on them for a 25cal you´ll sooner or later "break into water".
Ie; the transfer will end up running into the sealing "shelf" for the o-ring on the valve body.
As i wanted the hole dia for what i had in mind there was no turning back. So what i did was turn a semi thin steel shim to support the o-ring and we were good to go.
Now.
The P-15/35 and the M-16 in essence share innards.
As you´ve already found out the main culprit getting these to breathe is plenum volume.
At the time i had a M-16 i fooled around with, and i ended up fabbing a stand alone plenum on approx 140cc´s. Massive? You bet, but then on the other hand it sure delivered.
Being lazy i opted to use the reg pressure gauge hole for entry. Worked a million bux and in the end, even on that short a barrel, i was pushing an easy 125J and there was room to spare.
Idea was for a longer barrel, of course, but.. that kind of went nowhere for different reasons.
None the less.
The ticket to making these puffs stand tall is no doubt ample plenum volume. Them smaller bolt on ones simply don´t cut it if you really want to get things moving.

, all you need is sand paper 240 grit is what was used to sand the white plastic, then it was shaped for the valve to sit in, then it was cut (the steam) it was ment to be cut at 41.8 mm but it cut to 42.5, using a small disc cutter with the dremel then using the sand paper polish up the end you have just cut other wise it will have difficulty going into the valve as that happened to me, (thinking the worst) but all it needed was some sand paper to get rid of the fragments of metal from the end off. like I said buddy very easy
