Well damn it... just what I was afraid of.
No more head on head shots for me.

The slug went through the head, through the vitals but then also through his guts which is never fun to clean. So went through most of his body and came out his belly, slug lodged just under the skin.

The 13.43jsb knockout seems to be breaking up more than mushrooming. I just think 177 is too small to get consistent results as far as mushrooming unless you're just shooting into water. Cavity is just too small and if you make it any bigger it just breaks apart like varmint knockers

At my mom's new property in Appalachian GA/NC border. This is going to be a great season. Was up there shooting all morning. Mostly just targets and one whole starling. This guy had made a home in the boathouse. Shot him from 93y with the impact shooting 27gr hp2 @ 977fps.
Entered under the left ear. Bulging out under the right ear. Will extract and clean off when done skinning/gutting/cleaning

Nice shot! Beautiful out that way!

Tell me your secret on how to tell, I shoot first and look after lol.
Hahaha out here in the desert I usually shoot the dummies that like to “prairie dog” on the rocks or sun themselves in trees… they usually have a bit of pair of nuts on them when I retrieve them… and not in their cheek pouches 😂😂
