Daystate New Daystate Delta Wolf, erratic velocity with advanced setting

I got a brand new Delta Wolf from AoA in .177. My understanding is when using an advanced setting the values are fixed and the velocity should be very consistent. That is not what I am seeing but instead getting readings from the onboard chronograph that are all over the place with POI moving around with the velocity. Including a sheet of pics of the reading on the screen for a run of 13 shots. Pellets are JSB heavy 10.34 gr.

Any thoughts what to look at or should I reach out to AoA and tell them I have a lemon? Got the gun specifically as Daystate recommends this model for benchrest which my club only shoots in .177. Looking to use 800 fps as my velocity so I can also shoot silhouette at the club where there is a 800 fps max and not have to deal with scope zero changing with different velocities.

Barrel has just over 500 shots since purchased so I hadn’t thought to clean it. Chrony was cleaned just before taking the shots in the pic. As soon as I get a chance I will weigh and head size some pellets and retest with them. Thanks for the ideas.
I would try a couple of different pellets before doing any sorting. In my experience, sorting may be beneficial for fine tuning, but your variance is greater than I would expect to correct by sorting.

I have 2 of these. I will say when starting a shooting session both of mine shoot the first shot slow. I have come to just expect this from pcps. Many do it. After that they both work great. I haven’t messed with 177 at all so I’m not familiar with what settings should be. Are you using pre programmed sets or one you created yourself? Is the consistency better in factory mode ?

I had similar issues with my original delta wolf. I sent it back to Aoa and they took care of the issue. If I remember correctly the valve return spring was defective and just needed replacement. Give aoa a call they will take care of you.
Sounds like a call to AoA tech support is worth the time. Thanks.

Preprogrammed sets were all for 22 caliber and larger. I created a set using the parameters from the factory table for the caliber, pellet weight, and velocity. Yes, factory mode is more consistent by a lot which is backwards of what I understand of people using advanced mode so values and poi are consistent.

Ok I would say it is the parameters you input then. I have realized these guns still need good numbers just like a mechanical gun needs good balance between reg, and hammer strike. I’m sorry I don’t have any experience with 177. Maybe someone else will come in with some specific sets. Try beginning with voltage and adjust that up until no more velocity increases for that reg pressure. I do try to keep the voltage on my guns set just below that point. Might help.

Guess I need to take my laptop out to my range and start playing with settings. Thanks

try cutting the hammer dwell time down to 1500, then work up from there...when I had mine years ago, and it was a 177 also, I ran with the hammer at 1500-1600 dwell time to cut down airflow behind the pellet and wasting more air. Mine was VERY consistent with any 177 pellets I fed it.....your voltage looks about right to me as I remember...

I would lower the reg to about 90 bar. Remember that you need to degas to lower it. Unscrew the bottle and take a few shots till your reg pressure is below 90, then carefully turn the adjustment clockwise till you can feel it bottom out. CAREFULLY is the key word... not too much force. Screw the bottle back on, then adjust your reg counterclockwise up to 91 or so. It should settle about 90. You may have to fine adjust the voltage to get your velocity to 800 but it should have a MUCH better first shot velocity and consistency.
Keep in mind this will be specifically for that power level. If you need more, you may have to adjust the reg up to achieve it.
Cleaning the barrel is also a very good idea. Pellet sorting may help but the returns for the effort might not be good.
If the velocity hard capped at 800 but energy not specified, you might also try the 13.4 Monsters (not Redesigned) at 790 to 800. They seem to be very well suited for that.
