USA made Crosman Destroyers?

I landed a part-time at a local gunshop and started this past Monday.

I was walking around the store to familiarize myself with where everything is located, and found our small (for now) airgun section. Currently we have 1 .22 cal pellet in stock - the Crosman 14.3 gr Destroyer. I've wanted to test these for a while now, so I bought a tin.

Once I got home, I saw the lid was painted - not a sticker, and on the packaging, it said "Made in the USA, with globally sourced materials." Isn't the painted lid the first giveaway of the USA made pellets (that plus the 'Made in USA on the packaging?).

Once I get my rifle back, I'm going to do an intense testing of the accuracy, and if they do well, I might buy out our supply.

I never understood ehy crosman spent time , resources on stuff like this / cra p you really dont want but discontinued the good domed everybody liked and wanted .
Man i cant even now remember the last time i seen crosman domed or wad/flathead pelletes in store.

But it makes good understanding of why crosman failed and became a toss around holding company hot potato and now owned by gamo .

They know their market and that gimmicks sell. Up to whatever stupid velocity number with gold pellets. Pirahna pellets and destroyers.... They know their Walmart market. Meanwhile let's ruin everything good that the enthusiasts loved.

Honesty i really don't see much i want anymore . Then factor in the inflated cost just doubles down on the not interested..
'zactly. Walmart is a great place for a Dad to buy his boy his first pellet/bb gun.
Matter of fact, I hadn't had an airgun since I was a kid. Maybe 15 years ago we were walking through a Walmart (Black Friday I think it was) and they had a pallet of plastic fantastic Daisy 880s in the center isle for $24 each. I picked one up and was off to the races. Later I was searching for vinatge wall hanger guns for decor in our 1904 home. That's when I fell upon these forums and the addiction really took off. And when someone mentions that I might need a 12 step program all I can think of is "take 12 steps, turn and FIRE" :ROFLMAO:

Last I was there they had a few Rugers and Daisys.. Slim selection of pellets and some C02. They still have a good assortment of scopes, rings and targets. But it's mostly all low end stuff.
I got lucky a few times at a local pawn shop but they recently stop dealing in airguns.

Its rare anything around here lets you get that close. Snake ? Turtle maybe. Things are pretty skidish.
I can sit pretty still and the chipmunks are plentiful. On a really good day, I've been able to get 4 - 5 in a couple hours.

Of course once they start digging into the peanut butter bait, I've got a few extra seconds of them holding still.
