AirMaks Arms Krait Standard .22 tuning

I'd like to try and tune my Krait Standard in .22. Running CPHPs. Reg is just below 100 which appears 100 or there abouts is how it comes from the factory. I shoot around or about 30 yards, rarely anything at 50 yards. Pesting small birds or rabbits within that distance. Want to maximize shoot count on a full bottle fill and minimum FPS to take out pests. Typically I just leave as received, but I think my Krait is running more power than needed, so thinking the hammer needs adjusted first? Appreciate some guidance.

Just to verify with the Krait owners, turn clockwise to reduce the hammer spring tension and open amount of dwell time/amount of air?
CCW for reducing HS tension and if you feel that she still spends too much air- turn valve screw slightly clockwise.
Valve screw is little brass thing above the hammer lever (see picture)
With that you can reduce (CW) or increase (CCW) dwell time, ergo air consumption.
Sorry for late reply to help.

@ChickenDumpling - I've mentioned this in other posts but ALWYAS degass before turning the regulator down! I found that out the hard way when I ruined the Huma regulator! You can then almost close the valve and srrat increasing the pressure from the bottom. I think I started somewhere around 70 or 80. The trick is to then very slightly adjust the hammer spring to get the speed you want. It's one of those where you shoot it over the chrony, small adjustment, shoot and adjust until the speed strats to drop (too much HS). Then back it off in slight inccrements until its back to your desired speed.

I have my 177 standard at 105bar and I'm shooting H&N Baracude Extreme Hunters at 1003fps and it is deadly on the pests I'm going after! I get probably 75+ shots out of the 300cc bottle. If I turn it down to 90bar, I am still getting around 900 fps and my shot count goes up to where I refill once evey other week!

It's recommended as safety precaution although It's not needed when you do it gently, just make small, 1/8th of a circle or less turns and every time follow with few shots to stabilize/lower pressure in plenum. That way is much faster and you can fine tune your pressure while tuning your Krait.

@Strelac - I'm glad you were able to do that. The first one I ruined I mistakenly turned it the 1/8 the wrong way - I meant to increase the pressure. Then I thoought I would upgrade to the MK 2 regulator and that didn't work because the threading is diffetent size between the 2! So if I want to go to a lower pressure, I always degass and start from the bottom up to where I want to be - no more blown regulators! My newest Krait has the latest Huma regulator and it was replaced under warranty at UA. Both Kraits have been working flawlessly for over a year and neither loses air between shooting which may be a week or so.

i'm sorry for your troubles, from my experience Krait is really dependable and solidly built airgun. Till this day, I never had a problem with her, although there was a learning curve how to deal with her properly and she did forgave me some beginners mistakes.
I have great experiences with every Czech airgun I got or tried, from Airmaks to AGT or Taipan. I'm still waiting to try Epic, although my next purchase would most definitely be Slash.
