N/A Ok serious off the wall question

I probably should shouldn't say this but, I got really lucky I've got enough fun tokens to pretty much do what I want, within reason. I've got my PCP's that pretty much do what I want, IF I do what I'm suppose to. My Sapsan works well, my Maverick Compact .22 project gun is a touch temperamental but it works well enough out to 100 yards or so. My Maverick VP 600mm .25barrel is interchangeable withe 30.2 gr slugs or 33.9 gr pellets (AEA's) point and click 125 yards. My GSAR Raptor is a monster, it's long and big, and now consistent as all get out with 30.2 gr AEA slugs. If I wanted to push the gun it'd do 49.2's but I honestly don't want to push it that hard and it sucks air like there is no tomorrow. They actually work pretty well at lower speeds but then, why bother. I have a Tequila pistol that works very well and is very accurate for what I do with it at 25 yards or so. I have an old Daisy 717 that still works well. The Mrs.'s doesn't give me any grief when I buy some stuff so meh I'm good.

Hands down the Kral factory with my valve design. No limit on money so I'd buy them a hammerforging
machine for my 3 groove barrel with a tensioned shroud and make a sub $1000 retail tack driver.

If you were able to have an unlimited amount of money and you can go to any factory and build their new air rifle or pistol, which company and what would your idea be. I’ll go first.

I would build an FX. I would take the King And make it bull pup. Take the King, M4 and the Leopard and make a child. I would take the Kings block and over the barrel plenum and integrate it with a Leopard but able to customize it like an M4. Have a magazine the size of an M4 and be able to load the weapon like the M4. Be able to go from .177 to .35 caliber. I would use the quick tune system MAYBE the valve tune system but honestly the quick tune does the job pretty well for fine tuning by itself on the M4. I’ll make the trigger guard like the M4 for attachments. Cocking mechanism like the M4.

I know I know “Why not buy the M4” I like the simplicity and block and plenum as the King with the customizable abilities as a M4 and a bull pup. So what would be yalls builds?
I would want a real barrel

I’m adamantly against modular airguns. So many guns out there could be so much better if this whole thought process was erased from the airgun world. A Taipan is not a modular airgun. Its track record speaks for itself. You want a .22, you buy a .22. You want a .25 long, standard or compact, you pick one and buy it. Then live happily ever after. Taipan is not the only one. I just used it as an example. Modular airguns are out there because of the after the big purchase money to be made on the back end. It’s not for the good of anything else.
It’s good for the people that like to fiddle and have limited space

I think FX builds beautiful guns, but the non-repeatable barrel to receiver joint that causes POI issues prevents me from buying another FX rifle until they resolve that issue. All their guns suffer this, some more than others. What good is any gun if the POI is not consistent from one session to the next? There is a lot to be said about a fixed receiver to barrel joint for this very reason.

Yeah I would try and figure out that too.

I would tell FX they can’t use legos to design the main rifle, cut the number of screws in half, only 13 o-rings and a solid barrel. I then wait at the factory gates for 50 years.

I would head to RTI’s factory and say let’s build a traditional carbine rifle. Tube air tank, big enough plenum, their balance valve, 380-400mm barrel, full active shroud, laminate and walnut stock, about 36” OAL, quiet, powerful and no mod necessary. When you remove the action from the stock there are cut out areas where you can add lead or tungsten slugs to add as much weight as you want. You can purchase the slugs from your RTI dealer. Then film all the airgun hunters doing backflips.

Oh, one last thing. The RPB barrel will be threaded into the receiver. None of this multi caliber crap. It creates weaknesses. If you want two calibers because you love the gun, put on your big boy pants and buy two guns.

RTI needs to see this set of requirements. These rifles would fly off the shelves with these features. 👍👍

one with substance.... thicker, hammer forged, etc... not a straw that needs a carbon fiber sleeve around it.... etc...
Yeah I get that part but their barrels are legit. Doesn't matter about the thickness their barrels win a lot of competitions. I would say try and thicken it for harmonics.

Why does everyone want a solid barrel when their barrels win competitions lol if tuned in correctly the barrel works

IMO, i think the harmonics term, or thing, is very misunderstood and an overused marketing cliche or term used to sell "stuff". Dampening barrel vibration (or whip) at the muzzle end can be accomplished many ways, but it can be neutralized (or most of it) where it begins, by improving barrel quality and breech / action interface. Heck just adding a 1/4" or taking away a 1/4" can have a dramatic affect on whip; you can even add thick O-rings along a barrel at specific increments to absorb vibration. Think of how a rope or whips tip / end will fray when you snap it, the cheaper the weave the faster it shreds. I like FX guns... don't own any anymore but that's because of # of overall parts and o-rings etc... I like simple as in less is more.

Because what a guy does to win a competition with a barrel is not what most guys want to endure. A barrel that‘s comprised of many parts is just not a good idea when you want consistency day to day, month to month and year to year under all conditions. Solid barrels have no parts and can be used as an integral part of the chassis.

FX Smooth Twist comes to mind. Wasn’t threaded, but boy can they shoot.

I’ll be more specific. It’s not good for anything else from the manufacturers aspect. Fiddlers make the company money on the back end of a gun sale. They must balance it out between knowing they could build a better product but customers mostly seem to be ok with it so they can fiddle so why pass up all the extra cash.
