N/A What gun amazed you?

For me it was an absolute fluke. One of those times when I had money and no particular gun in mind. After seeing a couple possibilities in used guns on UAs site, I called, after the great guy who I talked to realized I was open for suggestions, he said, " how about something different, an Airmaks Katran in 177"?

I had never heard the name Airmaks, and knew less than nothing about their guns. He explained the gun was taken from new stock, used at a match to show off its brand and was being sold at a hefty discount. So, I said "sure, why not".

That rifle may well be the best shooting 177 I ever had. It was the long version with the tube and it was simply amazing. I had it a long time and finally sold or traded it as I wanted a lighter, smaller rifle. The fellow who got it started shooting slugs out of it and was amazed how well it shot slugs.

Today Airmaks rifles are known performers, but when I bought mine I had no idea of what a great gun they were and are.

Taipan Veteran 1 Compact in .22 caliber. Wish I could find an unmolested one again. I am finding a common theme in the rifles I'm liking overall ... CZ barrels. Then I gave Airmaks a second chance, glad I did.

The Taipan Veteran 2 Tactical 550mm .22 I purchased from Dillon is just so accurate, quiet, sublime cocking and with a fabulous light crispy trigger pull, reminds me of my RAW HMx but in bullpup form. It's also more efficient with air than my RAW, both shoot pellets and slugs very accurately.

Taipan mutant short 22. It opened my eyes to what is possible in a compact package. I wish I never sold it. that's thing was a 1 holer for sure.

Have the exact same rifle & feel the exact same way. Knew it would likely be a fine rifle from Taipan's reputation, but it's exceeded expectations in every way.
Did a partial disassembly to check out the inner workings, see what might need burr removal, cleaning, or lubing in the future... was blown away at how good the machining is. Every little part, every edge, every surface smooth as can be. Just beautiful work

My FX Impact MKII. Being the third owner and working to undue some of the 'modifications' and neglect by the previous owners It is more of a love hate relationship. Now that I have the newest Power Plenum with Power Block installed and close to a satisfactory tune it is the gun I grab when shooting for enjoyment and relaxation. With only a 30 meter range this rifle has suprised me any number of times with pellet-on-pellet accuracy and dispite the knuckle head behind the trigger.

In all honesty the HW100 .22 super consistent/dead accurate from 1st shot till drops off the reg. Next would be my Crown MK2 .22 with 380mm barrel.

Weihrauch pcp,,, while the HW100 is said to be a better gun, my HW110 and HW44 have served me well
had a Taipan gen 1 LONG version, a great gun but the long was too much for me weight wise,, if I had gotten a vet compact, I would still have it
neither brand uses a wind up magazine, but knows how to advance their own mags

Currently my Pathfinder XR, good shot count, gentle shot cycle, and very accurate. Light and fairly compact It’s the one I reach for the most, that it shoots the CPHPs accurately is a plus. Definitely good enough for 50 yard chipmunks, rats, squirrels, etc. 22 FPE at the muzzle and just over 11 FPE at 50 yards is simply irresistible to the aforementioned critters…

GK1 in .25 hands down. Touching hole groups, ~45fpe for 17 shots, from a pistol! Admittedly an oversized one, but still. Crazy performance for its size.

I am a sub $400 gun kinda guy. I read folks on these forums talk about $2k and beyond guns and I just can't justify that kinda of money for what I use an airgun for... strictly entertainment. I don't drive it to work or mow my grass with it. I don't put food on the table or sleep with it.
But I do like hitting what I aim at and I like guns that shoot the pellets I cast from wheel weight lead accurately. I also like guns that I don't have to repair before and after each shooting session.
Enter the Pinty P-Force Tactical, a sub $300 gun. A straight up "knock off" if you will.
I ordered one out of pure curiosity. I didn't expect much considering Pinty's other offerings. Seemed to me they sell lots of gimmick type stuff.
Boy was I surprised !

we all know and agree where your coming from, but when someone is looking out for the well being of there investments being agriculture or other sources of income with pest control and the sport of hunting to feed the family.......the "$2K and beyond guns" pay for themselves quickly with trust and performance
in the situations that arrive with shot by shot precision and the repair support that is available by there manufacturers
or our members here that can repair top tier guns and parts availability.
i also have some sub $400 guns and they do suit there needs well.

I have a pair of Niksan Ozark, sub $400, that is could walk around and shoot with someone and their $2,000 gun and there would be exactly no difference in result.

Quite possibly from the bench they would score higher. But general use, nope.
