What springer did you shoot today?

Temp is 95, weather report on TV says heat index in our town is 100, a few degrees above that in surrounding areas. All I have been doing is going out and turning some old palm rests I hav been refinishing with tung oil, so all the surface areas will get some UV light exposure and harden faster.

Been dealing with sick Pyrenees all weekend so not much chance to shoot. He’s better and as of this morning the 24 hour vet’s utilities are paid for the next 6 months LOL so we braved the 95+ heat. Kimmie 2 Guns’ HW50 .22, my HW95 .22, and HW97k long barrel .177. Had switched Kim to FTT in her 50 because power and spread numbers were better but she was struggling. Back to JSB Jumbo RS and she shot lights out so we’ll stick with that because I know what’s good for me ha ha. The 50 and 30 are her favorites. I struggled at first with my 95, probably the most hold sensitive of my HW. Was good once I remembered the sweet spot. The 97k long I got BNIB from Lewis a few years back, thank you sir. When I first shot it I showed him the chrono numbers and he commented those would be good for a PCP gun. Accuracy matches. I rarely use the word laser but I will with this, the big beast shoots. About 22 yards just sitting in a camp chair and it centered up everything. Started shooting the lips of cans to make them fly around. Great way to de-stress.

I've got a brand new walnut HW30 in .20, scoped and ready to go. But it's 93 degrees with oppressive humidity. I'll try it in September, maybe October. Plus 11 other springers...I'm relegated to shooting pistols in my air-conditioned garage. Outdoor shooting is a seasonal sport in South Florida.

Did you ever score a beauty…
Small world, wouldn’t want to paint it.
OMG. Just got off the horn with my son. He said he would buy me a gun for my birthday. I said thanks, but I’m good. Wasn’t off the phone 10 min. and I’m looking at AoA at a HW30 .20 Walnut. So tempting. See what happens. And you flash that at me. And It’s in stock.
I didn’t realize the heat was that bad for so long in Florida.
When I lived in the city I had air. When I built here no air, few hot days, but tolerable. I’m on the water which helps.
Today I shot 5 different HW30’s. Gorgeous day 78 with a wind. Nice gun.

My newest that almost never got here a HW95 .177. Already a promising gun. View attachment 580087Hi today 75. Perfect, Crow
Love the furniture on that. Low here today 78, high??? It was 91 already at 11:00 so probably 95 or better when it gets hot. But, at least humidity is near 100% so we have that going for us ha ha ha.

About the same here, a couple of hundred miles north of you. I got up early to mow this morning and had the blades turning shortly after 7am. Nice outside then I think the temp when I started was about 76 and a nice breeze, plenty of shade with long shadows from trees, 95 now with heat index only 103, due to a relatively low humidity. We have had so much rain that lawns and pastures are green, usually turning brown this time of year.
That HW 95 is beautiful Crow.

One shot with MK1 HW77 today. All it took for the front sight assembly to move so we gots to fix that. Switched to my FWB 124 and just stood and smacked spinners and Cooper the squirrel. High today was 99 so heat index 107 or so. i can get about 18 yards standing in the shade of the garage so that’s where my cowardly self stayed ha ha. Replaced the original scope on the FWB with a Hawke Vantage 2 x 7 and I’ve been so impressed with it. Held up fine so far through 300+ shots. Perfect for these mid-power springers.

Another day mid 70’s sunny. I’m rebuilding my 40 year old dock. Bit of a nightmare. Saw some gorgeous American boats cruise by.

In the evening after being burned out. Shot my HW77 .177. This gun makes you look good. It’s a keeper

And last another that almost never made it, a HW30 .22. This is my 3rd 30 in .22 cal. I replaced it because I didn’t think it was coming, so I have an extra. Mix 2 guns to get this.So accurate.

Dusted off the Custom FWB 124. This, from what I was told, is a Jan Kraner job. I mainly shoot from a bag. I can make almost ANY springer shoot well from a bag, but the standard 124s and 124Ds have always given me trouble. Not this one. I was shooting one hole at 25 yards without any extra effort. What a smooth shooting rifle. It's goin' on the bench for a trigger job. The pull weight is much too heavy for me. I'll bet I can do even better once that's taken care of.

Nice gun. FWB‘s drips with quality. That’s one of four on my bucket list. Crow

69F right now, high 79 today with sun. Perfect to tackle this job. My dock and shooting platform for long shots in winter, 75-100 yds.
