Sefic carbon air tank inside damage

I did buy new Sefic carbon 4.7L air tank from europe at big company and i also live in europe.
Tank did arrive today with standard valve fitted on tank.
Tank is CE standards.

I was very lucky that did remove that valve on tank before i did fill it air.

Bottom part inside of that tank was something black and it not come out for shaking that bottle upside down.

I did look inside tank with endoscope.
Look like there is holes through that aluminium cover!

There is also lots off very small black dots.

That tank should fill with 300 bar air.
I dont know would it explode or what will happen if i was try to fill it 300bar max pressure.

I did send email that company where it did come and i still waiting answer.

So there is good always check inside tank after buying even new one.

I'm a little confused. That looks like carbon fiber inside. It should be an aluminum internal liner.

It is aluminum internal liner.
Those bigger holes look like to be through aluminum to carbon.
Photos are take for endoscope display at phone so i can look little different.

Luxfer would've rejected that bottle over the liner pitting. That said, I've run them. They don't explode, they crack and leak down... The carbon and resin hold the pressure. Do as you see fit id try and get it returned. You paid for new

Personally, I would return the tank for a refund, and then buy a different brand. I'd want nothing to do with a company that produces junk like that, so I certainly would not accept an exchange.

You can find them used too, old firefighting or mine safety cylinders.

Ebay would be the place to look. Or classified ads in your local area. I found a batch of old fire scba for 90 dollars a bottle. We had to buy 4.

I have inquired with SEFIC on Alibaba. They were, at best, cagey when I asked about cerifications and inspection.

I just went with Acecare. My alternate is Alsafe/Tuxing. Never found any issue with either of them and only a couple dollars more than SEFIC was.

I bought an Acecare 9L CE tank a few years ago and I am very happy with it. When new, I carefully inspected the interior of the tank and it was pristine - as one would expect on a brand new tank. I would not hesitate to recommend them, based on my experience (sample size of one, but 100% positive).

Nice that you did get good and guality tank.
Tank interior inspektion is really good thing do and it can tell you sign of quality.

I don't know anything about their quality. It all could have been translation issues when I was chatting with them.

The other one I've never felt comfortable with is Snow Rain.

Alibaba is generally the cheapest then AliExpress. Amazon is 3rd, Ebay 4th. Alibaba you can chat with the sellers, most of the time you must to get a quote. From a US perspective Acecare and Tuxing/Alsafe have US warehouse for larger tanks so shipping is less than a week.

Tuxing (same as Alsafe) is a good choice.

I have 3 Alsafe/Tuxing tanks and they have been great for me. No issues with any of them. I was pleased with the quality of them and I think you'll be happy with the Tuxing. The insides of the tanks, granted I only inspected the inside of 2 of them thoroughly, looked perfect. I will probably be purchasing another, in a different size, in the near future

Also it take more time.

My preference just from general chatting with them is Acecare. Always pleasant and more than happy to sell you just 1.

No difference quality wise from Alsafe.
